I think its a good science fiction read because it dives into America's history. Alex Chapman and his sisters travel back to 1934 where they meet the artist who marveled Mount Rushmore, Gutzon Borglum. When Alex and his sisters arrive they are just in time to help Mount Rushmore in its troubles.
