When you read a book for a work project and professional development you need a book that clearly elaborates the topics and give practical examples of application.
That is exactly when this book does and it is a book that can help even the greenest of people get a clue of not only employee retention but many other core factors of HRM.
It is a good starting point just as it is a good informative read.
