Oh, oh, oh. I'm still riding high after finishing "Noah" by Jacquelyn Frank, book five of her 'Nightwalkers' series. This series has everything I want in a paranormal romance/urban fantasy: mega-hot heroes, strong heroines, vampires, demons, and weres (Oh, my).
Kestra is a successful mercenary who uses her intelligence, agility, and highly trained body. She's also a woman who has suffered horrible loss and lives with survivor guilt every day. Until one evening, on a mis...more

Terrific! Sensual and erotic with mystery and suspense combined!
Noah is coming to the edge of his sanity. As a demon, he feels deeply, and during the moon phase of Sahmain and Beltane, if the needs of a male demon aren’t met, his insanity grips the better part of him, making him do things he doesn’t want to do. Noah struggles with this more and more as the centuries go on, and for the past six months, he’s been dreaming of a wild woman who pushes him right to the brink of his s...more

Noah was a good addition to the Nightwalkers series, but it was not my favorite out of the five books Jacquelyn Frank has published so far. She usually does a great job at having the two main characters fall in love slowly with reason yet keeps the rest of the story flowing in the background. I have long awaited for Noah to find his partner, but I thought that the way they fell in love was a tad bit sketchy. She does mention a long background between the two for 6 months (you will have to read i...more

Finally Noah gets an imprinted mate! The demon king has needed one for a long while now and I was so relieved for him that he finally found Kestra. However, Noah became a smaller version of himself because of his fear of losing her. Noah, for me, has always been larger than life - even more so than the others. By seeing Kestra's death - which he then circumvents to save her - he sort of folded in on himself to me. He withheld so many facets of his personality to not scare Kestra off that I wante...more

I loved all of these books and will add this series to one of my favs. It was a nice combination of everything.
I do have a few cons...It did have a tendency to be repetative with regards to Kestra's struggle to love Noah. Also, her background story with regards to her tragedy wasn't carried out well. For something so tragic as it was suppose to be, was not well served with a summary.
Also...the largest complaint is that I've heard that this was suppose to be the last bo...more

I have waited to read this since Jacob. There is still nothing better than Jacob. This was really good, although at times I felt like it seemed long and too detailed. Or maybe my mind kept going other places, distractions over riding my concentration. There were a few questions that were left unanswered or cleared up with Kestra. Nothing wrong with Noah's character and I feel for him. I was happy to see all other characters from other books in there and sad at some of the ways things left and ...more

All paranormal romance fans.
Noah, the true monarch and patriarch of the Nightwalker world, is definitely a favourite character of mine. I loved this book, and I loved watching Noah learn about himself and others, and grow as an individual. As the fifth instalment, I was a little taken aback by the different style in which it was written as compared to the other Nightwalker novels, but I quickly got over it. I loved the updates of "old" characters (which is no doubt why I really love series novels) and the introdu...more

I read this one second, after Jacob, since I could get my hands on it before the others. I was very much looking forward to his story, and for the most part was not disappointed. I found that it lacked a little spark that had been there in the first book of the series, Jacob. I think the problem I had, such as it was, was that I did not feel that Kestra was equal to Noah. I did not dislike her as a character, but I did not find she was enough for the Demon king. She did come into her own tow...more

everyone who's looking for a great read
For the past six months, Noah, the Demon King, has had difficulty keeping his darker and "baser" instincts under control, plagued by tantalizing and incredibly real dreams of the woman clearly destined to be his mate. But if she fights him even in his dreams, he can only suspect the fight she'll put up in real life.

Warning: Some Spoilers
Where to begin? I was so disappointed in this book. I liked 1/2 of it. Unfortunately, the half I liked was interrupted by a lot of garbage. In other words, I was forced to wade through a lot of irrelevant and insignificant details to get to the good parts throughout. There was no continuity to the pace of the story.
Perhaps I was under the misconception that these books were being written and published as a serial. My understanding going in was that N...more

I am so sorry that this is the end of the series. I totally loved reading each book. Maybe we'll get lucky and Ms Frank will change her mind. The end left so many unanswered questions.

Fans of Jacquelyn Frank, Keri Arthur, and Alexis Morgan.
I thoroughly enjoyed Noah, the latest Nightwalker installment from Jacquelyn Frank.
Noah is the king of the Demons, and as those of us know who have read the previous books, maybe most in need of finding a mate. He is a Fire Demon, so therefore has the most volatile emotions of all the classification of Demon. Noah has been dreaming of a woman for months. He doesnt know who she is, only that he feels like he cant be without her.

Noah, the demon king, has been so broken by his loneliness that he does a single dreadful act to have what he's watched other's gain through the previous Nightwalker books. His true love, Kestra, is a delightful surprise. She is witty, stubborn and quite adept at rousing Noah's passions, along with being a great tactician and an even better survivor, this coming after she dies in the first act. Noah's love for Kestra is also one of his greatest guilts. She wants to be independent, so he lets...more

I love this series. I was sad and scared thinking this is the last one, but alas she has started a book 6. The sex scenes are great and she goes into character details so that is great. She keeps all the original characters from books 1-4 in this book as well so it can get a little confusing on who is who. For that reason I do recommend reading them in order, but it's not a necessity. This book has it all - demons, gods, vampires, lycanthropes, etc. The characters are lovable. This story ...more

For some reason I am having trouble with many of Frank's heroines. I love the men. Their characters are great. The plots are also quite compelling. I just don't get into many of the matches. Noah's mate is no exception. I just don't care much for her. She has potential, but is missing some crucial element to her likeability factor. Franks created a character who lacks the ability to form meaningful relationships. Then she sets this person up to be the monarch's mate? It doesn't match up for me. ...more

marked it as to-read
I don't really understand what's going on, because I haven't read any of the other books in this series, and at this point I doubt I will read any of them... I'm still giving it a try because I'm attempting to go outside my chaste comfort-level and read something a little more racy. I'll never be ready for flat out romance novels; but this at least eases me into whatever ends up happening b/c it has the sci-fi/fantasy angle going for it. So, we'll see if I make it any further with this one. I do...more

Wow! What a great conclusion to a wonderful series! Noah has been one of my favorite characters throughout the books and in this one he finally has found his Imprinted mate. I agree with other reviewers that it would be best to start at the beginning of the series since there are plot threads that were woven earlier that might confuse a new reader.

Nice to see that even a paranormal king can be taken down by a mere human woman.
