Move Over Peyton Place

What can I say? I lived in a trailer park for about three years and the comings and going of the many individuals weren't quite as spicy as the characters Kristie and Mark developed, but they were close. I could see the old football hero Billy Ray Nixon and his buddies hanging out at the Amtrack catching a brew each evening after work an discussing events of no substance. Reminded me of "Married with Children." Al and Peg Bundy make a comeback.

There are strange goings-on at President Park in Grapevine, KY. This satirical look at small town life is really two intertwined stories. The main story is the gossip, back-biting, and general misbehaving going on in this lowbrow, redneck Peyton Place. The other is the story of Grapevine’s soon-to-be bestselling author as she writes the story of the world’s greatest lover. The last spices the story up while the entire book tickles your funny bone.

Trailer trash

If this is what trailer parks are like I wouldn't live in one. I did finish the book but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It is very sexual that I would have a hard time letting anyone under 21 reading it. I think the best part the book was the ending. I won't give it away but I'm happy for the couple.
Easy and fun summer read, story line already forgotten :-)

Kristie Leigh Maguire and her husband have lived all over the United States and many foreign countries while following his career. While living in Japan, she found it very difficult to find books to read that were written in English. This situation was intolerable as she was an avid reader and had been known to resort to reading cereal boxes if nothing else was available. Have you ever tried to re...more
