I was only able to get through the first 50 pages of this book. I am not sure if it was because of the subject matter, because it is very academic and I just wasn't in the right place, the nature of the writing, etc. Whatever it was, this book just did not hold my attention. I am also not big on going back through history and reading everything through a particular focus. Yes, that is how new theories and ideas are discovered and formed, but at times I think it can be misleading and 'find' thing...more

Interesting if a bit academically-oriented (translation--footnote dense and a bit dry.) Loved some of the photos.
