ok, at first I will admit that these books had little appeal for me. But as i started to read past the 4th chapter I started to get into it. It wasn't a page turner, but interesting. The characters were spunky and intriging.
Take a Mother turned vampire, A teenage daughter, and a freaky condition and a wounded soul... Yeah thats the gist of the book.
Although the author gives us a whole new twist on vampire romances, I,m still waiting on that great story that i will want to read again More...

What I Loved: I laughed, I cried, and I started wondering if all the hot Gaelic speaking men lived in some little town in Oklahoma. I really loved Lorcan and Eva, they were my kind of couple. They both had self-esteem issues, responsibilities, and were strong yet vulnerable on their own. Other than being vampires, they were both very real characters.

What I Liked: I love that Michele has created this world where she can push the boundaries. It seems like a very real town and all th More...

The Setting — is back to Broken Heart, Oklahoma where the Consortium has moved in, bought up all the property to create a sort of paranormal haven. They sleep during the day and at night – the locals come out!

The Characters — are some returning, like Jessica, Patric, Lorcan, and the werewolves – and you see them in all their former, hilarious glory. Then there are the new ones, like Eva, the main character of this novel. She’s been the towns librarian for some time, a single mothe More...

I liked this second book in the Broken Heart Vampires series a bit more than I liked the first for some reason. I will go on to read the next book in the series eventually. I think there are about 5 or 6 books in this series now.

I think I liked this book more that the first one because:

a) The backstory had already been set in book 1, so there wasn't so much bouncing around between the current story and why/how the characters got to where they were today
b) The mai More...

Eva LeRoy was one of the 11 single parents in Broken Heart, Oklahoma who were turned into vampires. Eva is the town librarian with a smart ass 15 year old and a bibliophie, like most of uson Goodreads, and she was freakin' hilarious! Granted, she wasn't as hilarious as Jessica was, goddamn she was funny(: Anyways, Eva has a little something-something romance going on with Lorcan O'Halloran and, this is good, he's the vampire who Turned her! All of a sudden, Eva's life goes haywire, first off her More...

Well, in my view the first book was better : I known, it's not a great way to start a review, but it's true.
This book tell the story of Lorcan (Patrick's twin brother) and Evangeline. Why it's not so great as the first of this serie? The writer repeated to much aspects from the first book (Eva is, as Jessica, a single mother... but there are more things to much similar between the books).
But I'm giving 3 stars because the tormented aspect of Lorcan was really interesting... I like i More...

2.5 stars, but I gave it 3 instead of 2 on the benefit of the doubt because I liked the first title in the series.

It was interesting to read a second second-title-in-the-series in a row; I'd just finished Darynda Jones' Second Grave on the Left and adored it. As a second-title-in-the-series, however, Don't Talk Back... was pretty disappointing. I liked Eva, but I actually thought Lorcan was better developed in the first book than in the one that was supposed to be his own (partly) ve More...

I like chick lit, and I like paranormal romance, so this series is really entertaining for me, but I wouldn't recommend it generally. The premise is that 10 single parents in a small town in Oklahoma all got turned into vampires. The first book in the series was pretty good. This one, the second in the series, was not quite as good. In it, the town librarian, Eva, falls in love with Lorcan, the vampire who killed her in the first place. Eva's got special mind control powers and can commune with More...

This is the second book in the series. The story takes place in Oklahoma. All the single parents were attacked by a crazed vampire infected with the "taint" (disease that makes a vampire go crazy & eventually dies) The consortium (paranormal group) steps in and turns everyone that could be saved. This book is about one of hte moms named Eva. She has a teenage daughter and she runs the local library. Eva starts having romantic feelings for the one who attacked her. Her daughter st More...

This installment of the Broken Hart Vampire Series involves Eva LeRoy the town librarian - who I am sad to say isn't the librarian at the end of the book. That saddens me - as I could have really rallied behind a Vampire Librarian!

This book follows with the same themes as Bardsley's first novel - but focuses on Eva. The book does follow up slightly with regard to Jessica and Patrick who were the focus of the first book.

I would imagine every book from here on out will fo More...

This is the second installment of the Broken Heart series, and I hate to say, it was a let down. I loved the first book. It was sarcastic, witty and charming. So, coming into the second book, I had high hopes. Unfortunately, it seemed much of the struggles and characters were too similar to those in the first book. Seriously - the first book: single mom gets turned into vampire, fights falling in love with "soulmate" and finally succumbs. Second book: Single mom gets turned int More...

I laughed, I cried, and I started wondering if all the hot Gaelic speaking men lived in some sleepy little town in Oklahoma .This little sleepy town had some really HOT vampires where a girl like me would like to find a vamp of her own speaking all sexy Gaelic makes a girl all dreamy and melting inside. DON'T TALK BACK TO YOUR VAMPIRE is just as equally enjoyable as the first book in the Broken Heart Vampire Series. And I am enjoying these characters so much that I just want more and more. Bardsley has got me hooked on this amazing vampire series and I crave for nothing but MORE!

The Second book in the Broken Hearts Vampire Series.

This story centers on the town librarian Eva LeRoy. She is one of the 11 residents of Broken Heart Oklahoma who were attacked that fateful night three months ago and turned into Vampires. Since then the town was pretty much bought out by the Vampires and the Paranormal Society and the New Vamps are trying to adjust to raising there kids and making a life for themselves while learning the ropes of being Undead.

I personally did not enjoy this book. As I got to the middle I kept wishing for the book to hurry up and end cause I was really bored with it. I did not read the first book and maybe this is why I was bored with this one. The characters didn't really develop for me. Eva did a little bit, but Lorcan's character was just kind of blah and he was so depressed all the time. At times I would forget that he was even part of the story. Then there is a part where Eva argues with an enemy (won't spoil) bu More...

I have to say that when I read the first one (I'M THE VAMPIRE, THAT'S WHY), my socks stayed firmly in place on my feet. Though I liked Jessica and Patrick and thought there were some funny moments, I was able to put the book down quite a lot and let my attention be drawn to other things.

I wasn't in a big hurry to read this book. I picked this book up and right away I was drawn into Eva's life and getting to know Lorcan was great. I especially LOVE how all of the animals are drawn to More...

Cute...not as good as the first one. But, I think it was basically the same story as the first one with a few names changed here and there. It wasn't original...the first one was. I will probably read the next one b/c I enjoy the characters, but it's moving towards the bottom of my list. Also, I felt that there were so many characters in the story that it was often difficult to keep up with who was who!

The second book in the Broken Heart series by Michele Bardsley continues to get better and better. In this book Eva LaRoy finds out her affinity for animals is explored leading her to new powers of her vampire family line. She meets Lorcan the man who was at fault for her becoming a vampire and the fires are lit. She deals with her new powers, her love for Lorcan and her daughter is dating a vampire hunter. Great suspense, love story and adventure.

Entertaining 2nd installment in Bardsley's Broken Heart vampire series, this time focusing on the romance between local librarian and newly turned vampire with oddly strong powers for a turn blood, Evangeline, and 4000 year old Lorcan, the broody, angsty cause of all turn bloods in Broken Heart. The characters are engaging and quirky as they tackle supernatural powers threatening Eva, her daughter, and vampires as a whole. A good story with slight thriller twing mixed with learning to let the pa More...

I would have given this book a 4 star review, if not for the ending. It felt rushed and cheesy with corny lines and a lot "hurry up and resolve things" feeling. I was really enjoying the story up until then. I just expected more after all the build up.

To quote Eva, "That's it??" Lorcan has spent 4000 years writing books and poetry. I wanted more from him.

In this sequel to "I'm the Vampire, That's Why" it brings you even closer to the town of Broken Heart Oklahoma. Have you ever wondered what it'd be like to be a mom and a vampire? How about living in a town of all vampires and other paranormal beings? This book has it's funny and poignant moments, I barely could put it down! Looking forward to the next installment "Because Your Vampire Said So".

This book was another book that was very entertaining as well. So i'm positive in saying that the rest of her books in this series are going to be awesome as well. I really like Eva and her daughter Tamara. There bond and the love for one another is great. I loved the twist and unexpected turns in the story. This one was more suspenseful and had me more on edge. I loved Lorcan and Eva together i think she was a great match for him.

I do appreciate the switch in characters, but I still feel like I'm reading fan-fiction. And, it's fan fiction by someone who has ready a *lot* of Harlequinn romance novels. Seriously, these read like the cheesy romance novels my grandmother used to store in the back of her closet.

# 2 in the Broken Heart series.
Eva LeRoy, Broken Heart, Oklahoma's librarian, got "vampified" when everyone else did: during a rogue vampire's feeding frenzy. But books still make her undead heart beat-and, strangely enough, so does Lorcan the Loner, the vampire who killed her.
