This book is mostly a vehicle for the large, high resolution National Geographic pictures of beavers. As such, the text is scarce, large, and obvious. The pictures are amazing, however, and I remember enjoying this book somewhat as a kid, though it wasn't my favourite of its kind. The "more about" page at the back of the book is excellent. If you are a fan nature's most suggestively-named rodent, you'll probably enjoy this book.
The pictures are excellent and the text gives simple introductions to beavers and how they live. Text is simple and easy to understand.

Read. So, SO many times-my son's favorite book lately. It's exactly what you would think about a book about beavers published in 1988 would be.
