I don't know quite where to put Shelly Laurenston's "The Mane Attraction" on the shelf. Does it go under romantica? It's not quite erotica, but more than romance. And it's packed with humor that kept me giggling and snorting and had my husband looking at me strangely (OK, MORE strangely than usual.)

I won the ARC for this from the Author's readers group. I love Shelly, she is one of most favorite authors right now. If you are looking for a smart, FUNNY, Romantic and hot read, this is your woman. (Did I mention the alpha shifters?) Having said that, Sissy the heroian in this book, was never one of my favorite charecters of Shelly's. I found her very hard. I liked it, I really liked it. The characters were interesting and very diverese. The conflict, side plots, and plot were good. It was entertaining and I finished it in five hours. Sissy Mae and Mitch were so entertaining I did not know whether to shake my head or laugh.

Story of a man who is a lion breed and he has a female best friend who is a wolf breed. This was a disappointment in that the main characters stayed "best friends" too much and too long for me.

If your goal is to be merely entertained, this is a good book for that. It's fun to see a different take on women in books too. Our main character is no shrinking violet.
