If you're a fan of sex, and are ready to sink into the power of sexual polarity (the dominant male/female energy within you and your partner regardless of what kind of body you're in) as a means to personal, relational and spiritual growth then this books is for you. If you're easily triggered by gender categories, or sex, then probably not so much. (If you found my first sentence triggering, then probably not so much.) I love David Deida's teaching, but he's definitely not everyone's cup of tea...more

David Deida's whole outlook is that our ultimate goal in our relationships is to get past the 50/50 or dependence to what he calls intimate communion which is more or less embodying love on all levels. Deida's book is an interesting read, but his repetition of the same concepts over and over can be a bit difficult to read. Ultimately, I gleaned a lot from the book, especially in the earlier chapters. Many examples are given that allow the reader to recognize patterns in themselves and their relationships. Recommends it for: people who want a hot relationship
this book is a bit controversial. he talks about the dynamic between men and women in a way that goes beyond man-woman roles and goes into masculine feminine as a polarity and a way to relate. i have had a ton of a ha moments while reading this and am learning a lot about getting clear about what is desirable in relationship for me.

as i am currently enjoying nunnery status, i decided it was best to be prepared to have a more solid connection when next i date someone...i think this is great read...more

With regards to relationships he offers some beautiful and insightful ways of approaching the issues. This book gives you some ideas and direction on how to make your relationships more compelling.
