we love this book and use it all the time for identifying birds in our yard and neighborhood. A few things I like about it: the birds are listed in order of size, there is a sizing chart on the bottom of each page, there is a "to attract" box for each bird that explains what to put in your yard to attract that bird.
It is pretty fun to try to find the birds in this book. I think the coolest is the sharp shinned hawk, but I've never ever seen any hawks in our backyard. Ever.
Great pictures of some of the birds I see in my yard but was surprised not to see all of them since I expect my birds are quite common.
Excellent, very short, field guide with some outstanding photography.
