This book could have been great, but Roth pissed me off so much it ruined it for me... He is such an asshole!! Im not gonna lie, if I was Rainey I would have punched him if he treated me like that.
Yeah she was kind of standoff-ish, but she was dedicated to her work and hardly what I would call spoilt...
Fawn being one of Roth's one timers annoyed me... why was she even there?! I don't like that she worked around Rainey and that he lied about ever being involved with her.
I liked the story though a

Shapeling Trilogy: Roth: Book One: Protector is fantasy romance novel (without the stereotypical sex scenes). It follows the story of Roth, who is a member of the Shapeling species and can shapeshift into a wide-variety of animals, and Rainey, a human woman that is in charge of a scientific experiment with the potential to change the world. They are introduced to each other when Roth’s ruling council assigns him to guard Rainey and Rainey’s dad hires Roth to be her bodyguard. Rainey objects at ...more

I didn't like Roth. I know everyone loves to read these novels where they fall in love right away with the man and long to be the woman in the novel. I'm not like that. I love to hate the man, the more I dislike him in the beginning the better he gets once I start to love him. Roth hit his low point when he was with Fawn ... if you want to know what I mean you'll have to read it! At that point I thought, nope no way I'm, going to like him if this is how it's going down. Sure, Rainey isn't ...more

First of all, I love the cover art on this book! It is outstanding.

Second of all, I throughly enjoyed this book. Roth's character is the strong alpha male type. He is physically strong with lots of wonderful 'protective' qualities. He wants nothing more than to be a Shapeling Master. But at the same time you get the sense he is trying to protect his heart. Now Rainey, she is a total rich kid, silver spoon, and all that, and smart to boot. But none of this gives her what she really wants which is

This is my own review. I'm in love with my alpha male, Roth. Now, Rainey, she's a piece of work.

I love a book that makes me forget everything except what I'm reading. As a preteen, I devoured Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys' Mysteries. When I reached my teens, romance novels became my favorite genre. Many years later, I decided to try my hand at writing and I've been doing so with a passion ever since. I have released several romance novels, including a contemporary western series titled "Romance ...more
