Best of all, Tom Lombardi knows how to tell a story. He moves it well and does it mostly with dialogue. His ideas are original and his mind moves consistently and pleasantly along with the story.
I'm not much of a young-adult-fiction reader, and despite the Henry Miller quote this novel begins with, My Summer on Earth is decidedly young-adult in nature. It is a story for and about teenagers.

What's an alien to do when he finds himself in sunny California armed only with a hot teen male costume, a vague understanding of human life, and a mission to track down and bring back an errant extraterrestrial turned actor? well, im no genius, and im definately in no sexual positon to know if this book would be considered science fiction. but if it was up to me, i'd say no because science fiction i find quite boring and painful, and this book is the exact opposite of that definition. never have i laughed so hard and loud at any published work, no lie. man i tell ya, i've nvr seen milk squirt that far out my nostrils. anyway, the book is about this alien from another planet who travels to earth disguised as a younge...more
