Pulotgata: The Love Poems is beautiful yet deceiving. The cover with those ethereal clouds atop a tree-filled mountain is surreal. “Pulotgata” (literal translation: honeymilk) is the Filipino term for honeymoon and the term, excuse my having been brought up in a heterosexual world, means that period following a marriage between a man and a woman. This book of poetry changed my life. Made me wanna be a poet and also finally have the courage to write my poems. I love it so much! So much!!! This is such a beautiful collection and it made me a fan of Danton Remoto that I simply just need to devour all his printed works.

Danton Remoto was born on 25 March 1963 in Basa Air Base, Pampanga. He was an ASEAN scholar at the AdMU where he obtained his AB Interdisciplinary Studies in 1983. With his Robert Southwell scholarship, Remoto obtained his MA English Lit., 1989; then, on a British Council fellowship, another MA in publishing studies, 1990, at the University of Stirling, Scotland.
