Alakazam! Magic cannot be explained and R.L. Stine shows that in his book Goosebumps Bad Hare Day. This book is about a kid named Tim whose hero is a magician named Amaz-O. Tim loves magic but the person he hates the most his sister ruins it by giving away his secrets to his magic tricks. Amaz-O is performing at the Midnight Mansion and his problem is he has two free passes and it is a school night and of course he can't go. What would you do stay home or sneak out?

Another 5 star rating. I'm so generous aren't I? I'm not into magic tricks, so I skipped some parts of the book. Here we have a kid who's obsessed with magic. Steals a bag of tricks out of resentment and everything goes bad. That was pretty cool. Seeing how the tricks went wrong. Aww poor Ginny, that's Tims sister, the little feisty sister. Poor girl, you'll see what happens to her. Anywho, the book is not at all scary, maybe a little suspenseful, but not really. Fun is a good word....no, no it'...more

This particular Goosebumps book was probably one of the worst ones that I have read. It took way too long to get into the action, it was not very entertaining throughout the book, and the cliff hangers at the end of each chapter did not make me want to keep reading. I will compliment the ending though because the twist of the book actually was clever and it made you think. If it was not for the ending, this book probably would have been rated one or two stars by me. I would recommend this book o...more

Ahhh, the Goosebump days. I would borrow so many of these from the library they seriously considered extending my limit of books checked out at one time. R.L. Stine you were a reprieve from a harsh and dreary childhood in which my mind wandered far away from the troubles of the day. I stole books into my bed and read far into the night by the faintest of lights. I might have better eyesight were it not for you; however, I regret not one page or line.

Good? No. Worth the time? Yeah. That's how you describe Bad Hare Day. Not good, but worth the effort. Since things are a bit awry around the recyclable "scary magician" concept, things don't unravel very smoothly. What does? Its fresh humor and sustainable horror, although both get corrupted frequently. One of "those books" on my list.

Out of all the Goosebumps books I've read, this is my favorite. I am a magician, and a Goosebumps fan, and when you mix them together you get a really good Goosebumps. The ending was a little off, but it is really good. It's my favorite Goosebumps.

Actual rating: 2.5 stars. I liked that the story centered on magic tricks and that (view spoiler)[magic was actually real. (hide spoiler)] I didn't like the end, though, and the catalyst for the story doesn't make sense and isn't explained later.

No, one of my favorite animals has turned inside out and went crazy. this book gave me alittle shiver but im looking for one that makes me not want to read it any more even though i will.

This was toward the later end of the series. Not one of the core classic first 20 or so but I still enjoyed it. Can't remember what it was about.

tim needed to be careful for what he wanted (to see his role model adn maybe even work with him) because it's not all what it seems

Yet again, Goosebumps par-for-course. Great build-up while the second half peters out into undramatic absurdity.

Magic sure was something Tim loved a lot until one day he steals some magic from Amazo's show. The magic was so real and uncontrollable which made him want to become part of the show. His wish came true when he met Amazo, who was a rabbit. In exchange for being in the show, Tim had changed into a rabbit himself. It was all he always wanted but I think he went too far.I would never have given up my own body just to be part of a show. I think Tim was too desperate to be in a show that he would giv...more

Goosebumps. This is the series that kept me reading through my childhood. More than any other series, Goosebumps kept me interested in reading, and R.L. Stein is a wonderful children's writer. I applaud his efforts, and can't express enough my gratitude for the series.

Magician's and what not to do with them. Another enthralling (for Sean) Goosebumps book. Of the three read so far with him I'd say this was the weakest, but it keeps moving well, as they all have so far and keeps childrens' attention.

Bad Hare Day disappointed me as a child. Like R.L. Stine's other scary stories, it was extremely cheesy, although I still take pride in reading the Goosebumps stories. They are a symbol of childhood.

The entire series is corny, silly, far from scary, and bordering on stupid. But it's ADDICTIVE. It's a genuinely amusing series. Good for kicking back and relaxing.

Looking back on R.L. Stine's books and I cannot believe how many of them I read or even why I like them so much. None of them are really all that great.
