...только в середине книги, захваченная сюжетом, простой ясностью языка писателя, я вспомнила, что лет шесть назад, ещё когда жила я в Тбилиси, я читала и Шпионский Роман и Фантастику, и была в полном восторге. Это были мои первые книги из под пера Бориса Акунина. Это не моё направление (предвоситаю читать про любоооовь!) но я с глубоким интересом и величайшим удовольствием "пролетела" через эту книгу. Я конечно понимаю что Акунин хне любит коммунистов, почти все его книги написаны про дореволюционные времена. Но после этой книги такое ощущение пустоты и беспомощности прямо жуть. Ну да есть и будут сволочи но такое ощущение что, чтобы хорошие люди не делали, всё равно проиграют да ещё по голове получат. Депрессия и только.

This book was very good and captivating all the way but the ending part (particularly the scene when "Wasser" talks to Stalin) is too cheap (the trick with knocking out of consciousness Beria and use of the pen pistol) and the end of this scene is logically faulty - since the book describes "special talk truth methods" in the lab, Stalin would send Wasser to such

Second book from the literary genres series. It was a little too comlicated. I liked Fantastica, but The Spy Novel was worse - like an accident during work. As a writer Akunin should stick to retro detective stories.
