A Ride On the Wild Side
The last place Catherine MacPherson ever expected to find herself was sitting on a Greyhound bus, handcuffed to a surly bounty hunter, with only a suitcase of her twin sister's flashy, shrink-wrap clothing to wear Just two hours ago, the respectable schoolteacher was sitting quietly at home when this bi macho hunk crashed through her door, mistook

Bounty Hunter Sam Mckade can hardly believe his good fortune when he spots a sexy Miami showgirl headed threw the airport- one he knows for certain has a bond on her head. Thinking this could be the catch that could put him where he needs to be financially to fulfill a long held dream he follows her to her destination and grabs her before she slips away again.

I’m not sure if this book was part of a series or not, but it was a great and funny story–definitely one I would recommend and may even give a re-read to in the future.
Kaylee MacPherson is on the lamb. She’s overheard her boss talk about soliciting a murder while in the dressing room of the Tropicana Gentleman’s Club in Miami. Not about to wait to see what happens next, Kaylee gets out of dodge–but wait, she can’t leave the state because she was found guilty of grand theft auto. Ent...more

While the premise was amusing, going 300-plus pages with this great, gaping foolishness completely ruined any fun I might have had with this book.
As with so many books where a little conversation could have wrapped things up in the first chapter, this book could have been finished by page 6 or so. A short jaunt to the local PD to have her prints run for exclusionary purposes would have finished it off. And granted, it would have been a very short book. But at least it would have been...more

The Kindle version has the funniest typo I've ever seen. It took the book from a three star to a four star just on that alone.
Despite a completely improbably plot and one dimensional villains along with an uninteresting secondary romance, I did enjoy this book.
I skipped large sections of the villain POVs and secondary romance POVs so I could focus on the relationship between the hero Sam and heroine Catherine. I loved how flawed Sam was (bordering on complete ass) but that Ca...more

Considering the number of times the characters mention "the restroom", this book should be marketed as a Toilet Paper-back! (I know right? ew.. give me the rose or lilac scented clichéd descriptions any day over puking and public restrooms..*shudder*)
I liked the fact that for a change the hero was not rich which is why he puts his frequent rider miles on a Greybound bus to maximum use and the romance extends into one never ending road trip .....only! with the reader feelin...more

This flows like a typical 'movie of the week'...
I can comfortably give this book a fat "B". I bought the paperback for my mother because it was a topselling paperback romance novel in 1999 and she liked those types of books. I read it because I wanted to cling to a story that I knew she was recently close to. Besides, my mother actually told me she really enjoyed the book. This book basically made me face my snobbery. I don't walk around aware of it, but then it rears up. Like when I'm reading a book and I am seriously not enjoying how most of the characters talk in "whaddayas" and "didjas" and "jaysuses". I must be sheltered. And a snob.
Otherwise, it was a fun-ish book. Kind of screwball humour. It was suspenseful - I did want to know what was coming next. I think that was because it was written in a way that really fel...more

This was goofy, nonsensical fun. Catherine's identical twin Kaylee, who works as a showgirl in Florida, has gotten herself in some trouble, heard some stuff she wishes she hadn't, and jumped bail. Sam the bounty hunter follows Kaylee to Seattle, where he apprehends Catherine, who is decidedly NOT a showgirl. Because he doesn't have a ton of cash, he decides to take her back to Florida via Greyhound. Catherine is smart, resourceful, and uncooperative.

Fun story about a cross country trip via bus. Bounty hunter Sam has the wrong twin girl, Catharine.
She is smart and able to cause several delays in their trip. There is an excellent sex scene that was well written, hot, and left me breathless.

Bounty hunter Sam McKade follows runaway showgirl Kaylee MacPherson across the country, happily anticipating the fee her return will add to his bank account. When he finally nabs the beautiful redhead he's not about to fall for her lame story of mistaken identity. (An "evil" twin -- bah, humbug!) Now Catherine MacPherson is pissed. This is far from the first time she's had to clean up after Kaylee's mistakes, but this time she's being dragged onto a Greyhound bus by a surly strange...more
Catherine knew she shouldn't have gotten the same tattoo as her showgirl sister/all-around troublemaker, Kaylee! Maybe if she hadn't she wouldn't be handcuffed to grouchy bounty hunter, Sam. Then again he is kind of hunky... maybe the matching tattoos weren't such a bad idea after all!
A cute, screwball romantic comedy sure to please! Enjoy!

I had some trouble with this book. Firstly, I didn't care AT ALL about Carolyn's sister, who has a large-ish roll in the book.
I really liked the concept of this novel, but as it played out I found myself getting bored and I really thought Carolyn was ridiculous a lot of the time.
It was a hard book for me to fininsh and now that I am done it isn't particularly memorable. I like other books by Susan Andersen a lot better than this one.

Sam McKade is a bounty hunter with a dream, one more capture and he can afford the cabin in the woods. Kaylee MacPherson is his ticket to freedom. The problem is that he snags her twin sister Catherine. Mistaken identity and hijinks insue as they work their way across the country.
Why I picked this up: I love stories of mistaken identity and forced time together.

2.5 stars really, but I am rounding up for the creativity of the idea. When I read the summary, I thought the concept of a bounty hunter retrieving a women who has skipped out on her bond, and failing miserably by taking her twin, teacher to the deaf, perfect sister instead. Not bad, an easy read, but didn't quite grab my full attention...
This book is entertaining in the first chapter and it just keeps getting better throughout the book. There are interesting and funny characters in this book that will keep the reader on their toes. I love a book with a spunky female who gives a man a "ride for money", and makes him "work". This book was great. Read it when you are down and I promise you will crack a few smiles! : )
I did enjoy this action packed story full of humor. I liked how the romance evolved between hero and heroine. Bounty hunter Sam grabs the wrong twin taking teacher Catherine from Seattle to Miami instead of her showgirl sister.
i liked this book it was great! i thought i wouldnt want to read it but when i started i couldnt put it down.... i loved how everything happened to.... i actually stayed up all night and read it lolz
Honestly, this was just silly. The characters were annoying and mostly unlikeable. I didn't care if they got together or not. Disappointing.
Very good fast paced , funny, witty. Really loved the strong female role, just could not stop until I read it all!
A cute, quick, fun read. After the last two books I read that flopped - this was a big improvement.
Des personnages tous plus tarés les uns que les autres, des situations cocasses,et une bonne dose d'humour.
I enjoyed this book but it would have worked better for me if the "mistaken identity" had been discovered earlier.
I'll have to re-read this book and see if my rating goes up now that I am familiar with her style and enjoy it. This was the first "contemporary" I read by her after coming off her Romantic suspense books. I think that might have influenced me to not appreciate this one as much as I might now.

This was a great and funny story. I loved the schemes that Catherine kept coming up with to prolong the trip.
Fun contemporary romance. Switching identities is always makes for an interesting ride.
Sassy, fun and sexy. Shared a ride with the characters with a grin on my face the entire time.
Great book. It was fast pace from the beginning to the end.
really good! read in a few hours, hilarious and entertaining!
Quite enjoyable and easy to read but not one to read again and again.
Very cute. Perfect summer read.

I grew up in a household with two brothers, a daddy, and my grandfather. Too many men, in other words. They diluted M'ma's influence by diverting my attention to things like the danger of answering nature's call in the dead of the night. I've got a hint for those of you raised in a less spit-and-scratch world: check before you sit, because chances are that seat is gonna be up. And they don't even ...more
