Once in a while when reading a book a specific phrase or metaphor jumps out in its perfection.
It happened with Neighborhood Watch --> "Max landed a second slice with the crop. Again it whistled. For a second time the rusty razor of agony scored her buttocks." ~ p.137
Lisette Ashton's book reads like a parody of Desperate Housewives (especially w/ the introduction and epilogue), or any other TV soap opera. There are numerous direct references to the genre, in case...more
