I really liked this book. It is fantasy. A girl is like a tree, with hair filled with flowers and magic herbs. This wizard guy is taking advantage of her and makes her pull her hair out to keep the wizard at health. (They brew a tea like thing with the hair) The wizard drinks it to live. One day Hannah runs away to find out who she really is. There is so much more to the story, but it was really good.

Kind of boring and everything was so obvious from the beginning. The only person who didn't know exactly where the story was going was the main character. Kind of a waste of time to read. This one was surprisingly lame in contrast to the author's other fantasies. Oh well.

I had some trouble getting into this book..the prose felt a little stiff, a little bit too much tell, a little too much must-describe-this-movement-and-that-movement for me to be comfortable with. Still, an enjoyable read.

this is a great young person's book, and i want my pagan friends to share it with their daughters. it is always such a pleasure to find an earth/nature/goddess centred narrative .

Very, very slow book. Nothing happens for about 80 pages. I don't see how the author had the patience to write it.

Gorgeous original fairy tale loosed based on Demeter and Persephone. I wish Hannah were not quite so dumb.
