I felt that this book was just TOO MUCH! It seemed like such a hodgepodge of tons and tons of information, that I'm not even sure how much of it will stay with me. My other problem is that very little of the information provided was actually new to me. Let me break it down for you:
1. too much sun in bad for your skin;
2. drink lots of water;
3. using a hairdryer/curling iron/straightner all the time will cause damage to your hair;
4. you should be flossing;
5. you...more

This is such a great book for teens and young people and may answer some questions for adults. There are a lot of simple tips, health science and common-knowledge information about basic self care, as well as a more indepth and scientific look at why the authors are suggesting the tips. The authors playfully cover topics such as self esteem, showering tips for healthy skin & hair, healthy psyche, grooming, weight and exercise: how to work with your body type, how to get the best results when bru...more

I find the You books so interesting. You Being Beautiful was a lot different than I expected. It discusses skin, hair, nails, mouth, back pain, etc. Each chapter was so interesting. The last part of the book states that you need to feel beautiful on the inside to be beautiful on the outside.
Basically it is about how to be spiritually and physically healthy so you can be your most beautiful. There is a whole section at the end that talks about what happens in your brain when you pray ...more

I actually really like Dr. Oz, not because of Oprah by no means but he explains medicine well in an understandable way to the public, but for me this book was not amazing...it was kind of too well beautiful for me. It just made me rethink if my eyes were really in the right place and really who cares about that! I would stick to just You: The Owner's Manual although I am drinking more water today and did brush my teeth for two full minutes last night so I suppose it helped!
Okay, the first YOU book was interesting. The second was gimmicky but still useful. The third was starting to wear thin. Now, like a hundred YOUs later, one can only wonder if Oz and Roizen will follow the naturally trajectory and publish YOU Being a Media Whore: The Owner's Manual To Milking Every Possible Dollar Out Of A Once-Interesting Concept.

I didn't like the illustrations at all. They were hard to read and made a relatively simple concept very complex.
I learned a few new things, but most of it is just common sense.
I also felt there was way too much promoting of Realage.com in the book. I didn't noticed the giant REALAge logo on the back when I checked it out, I guess.

Good basic health book about what works and doesn't. I think it was a little too basic for what I was looking for, but overall there is some great information here and most of it is common sense. (library book)

Are you kidding me? Are people really using these books as health reference? A shame that the text can be at times insightful and interesting, but the illustrations are unnecessarily childish and confusing.

As usual, an interesting, sarcastic, and useful guide to keeping yourself looking and feeling young and, in this case, beautiful. I didn't pay as close attention to the parts of the text I probably should have - but the authors make a good poitn about the connection between being beautiful and feeling beautiful; and how the latter typically influences the former. Replete with the usual straightforward tips on how to improve your health, mood, and feelings through lifestyle changes.

This is my third YOU book and they are all okay, but I have found some useful information in each of them. I don't care a lot for the style of writing.

It had a lot of the same information as the other You books so it made it a really really quick read if you had read those.

Like health science or the average reader, the book is a useful guide to how your body works, what's good for it and what you can do to be healthier. I think it's easily accessible, informative, and has a sense of humor. I know people who have been helped by other Roizen and Oz books (the rest of the YOU series) and I can see why this series is popular (other than the Oprah blessing).
It is always helpful to learn about yourself! This book is very helpful to all!!!

It was a great book. Not only did it have great advice, but it gave a lot of information about how our bodies work and why we are attracted to certain things, etc. It was kind of fascinating actually.
