An empowering book to help you take more control of yourself and your health
Bottom Line: Buy it
This book is FANTASTIC. Why? Well, because it is written for those who want to take their health into a more alternative direction, but are at a loss maybe what to do. In a word, self empowerment.
It explains kinesiology, and how you can muscle test with a partner to uncover what's going on in your body (and you don't need to go to medical school).
Plus, it's loaded with energy exercises you can do. From

I really wanted to like this book, but it was too far out there to be valuable to me. I have a hard time believing that you can cleanse your aura by bathing with a box of baking soda. I also have a hard time swallowing that an exorcised spirit destroyed a computer file on its way out through the attic. Throughout the book, Eden's anecdotal stories were all too pat to feel real.

Given that I believe the foods we eat have a primary influence on health and well-being, I had a particularly hard time

8 years ago I read Nourishing Traditions on Waikiki beach. It was the most paradigm changing book I had ever read. (I’m not counting scriptures, as I hope they aren’t that paradigm changing). I finished Energy Medicine while in Hawaii, but not on the beaches this time, as I have a two year old that thought it was great fun to throw a handful of sand at me while reading. I got tired of trying to get all the sand out of the crease, so I read it at home. Energy Medicine is now the most paradigm cha ...more

I do not really feel qualified to review this one. (That's why there are no stars... it doesn't mean I hated it.)

After a friend pressed me for more information:

I dunno. Suppose someone wrote a book about ghosts, and this person had seen ghosts all of her life and was quite good friends with a lot of them. She's eventually come to realize that not everybody can see the ghosts and that lots of people don't believe in ghosts, but she's also figured out how to get the ghosts to help people even if t

I only read part of this and thought it was very interesting. However, the more I study the Christian scriptures, the more convinced I am that this book is off a bit.

My friend gave me this book. She is a yoga instructor, believes in the power of crystals and gemstones, is all about chakras, and now she has people come to her and she does energy healing. I did a quan.tm session with her. I could feel energy in the room and felt peaceful and tired afterwards, but yikes! Quantum physics and transce

Energy Medicine 3 stars

This book is a text that goes into several different perspectives of energy healing. The author shares stories of her own personal experiences and in her work as an energy healer to add color and dimension to the book. She gives methods and pathways of energies within the body, and pointers on how to stimulate areas that might be in need of clearing. However, her ideas are sometimes stretched to make them encompass modern science and ancient healing understanding. She also

This book had some interesting ideas, but it was too far out there for me to really enjoy. I'm currently taking an Energy Medicine class based on Donna Eden's techniques, and I do find that I feel better (more grounded, balanced, calm) after the class. But some of the stories from this book and the supporting explanations just seem too bizarre for me to wrap my head around. I'm going to continue doing some of the exercises (and I find her 10 minute daily exercise sequence very useful) but I thin ...more

I'm reading this right now and watching the accompanying DVDs as I'm getting ready to teach a class. I have a first level certification as a Donna Eden Energy Healer, although it remains to be seen whether I will be able to afford to complete the training, which is horrifically expensive.

Obviously, as I chose this out of all the various schools of energy medicine available, it knocks my socks off, and Donna, David, as well as Titanya and Dondi (daughters) are all such incredibly kind, generous a

This is an incredibly enlightening book. I was introduced to Donna Eden's work through an online conference where she was a guest speaker. The phrase 'Energy Medicine' which was the title of her seminar, sounded strange, but when I listened to her I was instantly interested in knowing more about her work. I saw her videos online, visited her website and ordered her books. I've been amazed by the groundbreaking knowledge and healing practices shared by Donna Eden and her co-authors. Full of practical tips for alternative therapies. Covers meridians, touch-points, chakras, and energy paths.
The stricture, however, is a bit choppy; referring the reader on page 21 to try the exercise on page 68. The author intended the reader the option to read straight-through or peruse random chapters. While a laudable goal, I find that as a front-over-to-back-cover person, the skipping around is disconcerting. I find that I need to add stickies to exercises and techniques for easier referen

This is an excellent source of knowledge and reference for all things energy in relation to mind/body/spirit. I read it once through, and fell strongly that this is something I want permanently on my shelf, so I can keep coming back to different parts of the it as needed. As it stands right now I once again come away with the need to incorporate some sort of energy routine into my daily life... but perhaps my inertia with this might have deeper, subtler, causes than just, say, laziness. I have been reading this book on and off for a few years now and finally committed to sitting down and finishing it. Over all it was not a book that truly moved me even though it had some good sections, especially The 5 Rhythms section and the one about the Chakra's. Perhaps it was the fact that I am in a different space then when I originally decided to read it? Book reviews no matter how many do not mean a thing considering we all are coming from a different place in life. Read it and see what ...more

Six or Seven years ago my husband & I went to Omega institute in Rienbeck, NY. We attended a 2 day seminar by Donna Eden. It was very powerful & it was our introduction to Energy Medicine. I found it very helpful so I bought the book to help remember the info she gave us. She is a highly energetic, joyful & wonderful person. We are blessed to have her in our presence.

Became interested in this when my brother died from cancer and I saw other patients with the same cancer getting relief and longevity from using some of these techniques. Reads a bit like a text book, but I read every page. Don't believe in reincarnation or a few other interesting things in the book, but I've used many of the techniques with my kids - surprisingly they work.

Donna's beautiful spirit shines through the pages of this book. It's a lot to absorb, but with a little patience, I found that it helped me understand my own body....and others. For anyone interested in the healing arts, this is a must.

Really interesting book with many intriguing stories. Although the book is organized according to energy systems, the exercises she prescribes are scattered all around the book. For instance on one page she describes a set of exercises to release stress and the individual exercises are on 7 different pages throughout the book. An exercise will have a title followed by several paragraphs or pages of anecdotes before finally describing the technique.
Effectiveness of the systems seems to depend on

I first met Donna Eden in 2009 after reading the 10th Anniversary Edition of her book. The one shown here looks like the first printing.
Donna has been doing this healing work for about 3 decades now (2015). She has always been able to see energy. What makes her so wonderful is that she has taken what she knows and tied it in as it relates Traditional Chinese Medicine and Touch for Health techniques so that rest of us can learn how to work with energy to improve our health and the health of other

Donna Eden is still the front runner for healing. Her energy seems t wrap yours up in a warm blanket and says you have the power and instinct to heal yourself. I feel everyone should understand these elements to our health and our ailments. Donna Eden has proved over and over that she is not in it for the money but to help teach and help spread the word about energy modalities. The more you can do on your own to attain better health, the better off you will be. I must admit I own two of these bo ...more

I enjoyed this book, as well as many of the empowering techniques to promote healing and deeper self-awareness. However, I was both discouraged and frustrated that many of the exercises require a partner. I would have more greatly benefited from the book had it been more geared toward self practice. A dvd demonstrating the exercises would also greatly enhance the effectiveness of this book, for those readers who are more visually inclined.
(It has come to my attention that a supplemental dvd is

This book was referred to me by someone who knows much more about this topic than I. This basic introductory book is great for anyone who is very interested in learning more about qigong and eeastern philosophy on energy medicine. If you are not open minded about alternative holistic methods, this book is not for you. It gets into explaining the chakras and energy fields and what exercises can be done for specific health issues. Worth a look if you are interested in energy medicine at all.

I have both editions of this powerful and useful book. I can correctly state that this book is life changing and helps me live a more centered, energetic, connected life. Simple, life giving exercises to make my body, my brain and my spirit live to my highest potential.
I've also studied with Donna and look forward to whenever she and David are giving presentations in the DC metro area.
I highly recommend the exercises and techniques to anyone wishing to live more fully.

I think there was a sincere desire on the author's part to help others and so found her suggestions very useful. I use her five minute energy routine most days because it is simple and could help general health. I zoned out when she began to talk about magnets and their use, so think that is not for me. But I liked the book and will keep it for reference, just as I liked "The Healer Within" by Roger Jahnke. Self-healing is a very good source to encourage.

Donna Eden is known to be among the best in her field. This book gives many good exercises to support your energy field. Due to the many methods and exercises, it is probably good to keep this as a reference and work through the exercises slowly over time. It's hard to absorb all in one sitting.

I have seen some videos of Donna Eden on Youtube and feels that she exudes very kind and positive energy.

This is fascinating. It seems to be a true guide to helping your body heal itself in natural ways. I am impressed by the author and her realistic approach to explaining energy healing to someone like me, who knows nothing about it. I am intrigued. It is abandoned only because this is not the kind of book that I sit down and read, but read bits and pieces while digesting and practicing the information. This book would be better if owned.

“According to Richard Gerber, M.D.: “The ultimate approach to healing will be to remove the abnormalities at the subtle-energy level which led to the manifestation of illness in the first place.”2 Norm Shealy, M.D., founding president of the American Holistic Medical Association, has flatly stated that “energy medicine is the future of all medicine.”3 This emerging approach is actually both contemporary and ancient. According to Albert Szent-Györgyi, Nobel laureate in Medicine: “In every culture and in every medical tradition before ours, healing was accomplished by moving energy.” 3 likes
