This book is actually called A Star for the Latecomer and it blew my young mind. It's about a serious dancer and her serious commitment to her art, always a favorite theme. Too bad there was no eating disorder thrown in, another favorite childhood theme. I spent years wondering what "Slaughter on Tenth Avenue" sounded like, thanks to this book. Not nearly as violent as I had hoped, as it turns out.

I picked this book up totally randomly and I was suprised at how much I liked it. It's probably more appropriate for high schoolers, but it has absolutely no objectionable content in spite of it being a romance. It's a very sweet teen romance between two students from a NY performing arts school - two future stars! Appealing topic, written with sensitivity and insight. I highly recommend it.

When my mum gave me this book it was old, falling apart, and I didn't particularly think it would be anything greater than its sentimental value. However I was very wrong and I found this book to be beautiful and an emotional and wonderful read.

A real trip down memory lane reading this recently. I was fourteen all over again. Some themes that are timeless for the young adult - love, loss, death, growing up.

This is a book about feelings, so as a result, not a lot happened. I wanted the ending to be more of the middle, which is why it's two stars instead of three.

I don't remember a lot about this one, beyond the fact that I definitely read it as a teenager.
