This book was the first incarnation of John Granger's Christian defense of the Potter novels. It became "Looking for God in Harry Potter" for a while, and then was rewritten as "How Harry Cast His Spell." This book was good, but is now out of print and lacks the details of the last three or so books.

Interesting to hear a different perspective on the value of the HP books, even if this only went through Book 4 (Goblet of Fire). Lots of explanation of names, meanings, how HP books are very Christian, etc. Besides, it helps a little with my missing HP.

The author's premise that Harry Potter is a Christian hero is an interesting one but overall this book was not very well-written. And, he insists on calling a TV a "teevee", which easily knocks a star off the rating of the book in my opinion.
