I don't know if I can say enough great things about these books! Joel and I have just devoured the first four (currently the only ones we can get our hands on). We're scrambling to find copies of the next four and then we'll be dying for the 9th to come out in Feb.
Despite the somewhat sinister-looking pictures on the front covers, and perhaps also despite the fact that here we have yet another "orphan" hero, these books are fabulous. They are truly a "boy's" book...more

One of my students came up to me on the first day of school and flat out told me it didn't matter what I did - he just hated reading. I said, "that's okay, but I just hope you'll find one book you can love." I handed him a copy of the first Ranger's Apprentice and asked him to try it. He came back at the end of the week and said, "I still hate reading, but I love this book! Do you have any more?" What more can I say?
This is a fun series for teen readers with likable characters. The writing isn't wonderful, but it's not awful, either. And the books are clean, consistently full of adventure and positive themes. Readers will like Will, the apprentice ranger with a gift for woodcraft and resourcefulness. I loved the setting, Medieval era with knights, vikings, eastern steppe raiders, desert types and all; wrapped up in a believable story. Each book stands well on it's own, but depends on the development f...more

Read these (actually books 1-6) on my 10-year-old's recommendation. I liked so much about them: positive adult-child relationships, clear good and evil, creative storyline, emphasis on work combined with natural skills, good writing style. My son and I have discussed them, shared our favorite parts, and look forward to reading the rest together. **There is occasional PG-type language and some battle violence; more important things for discussion.
it is a good book its about a kid who gets to be the rangers apprentice,it is a real good book there is about eleven in the series and im on the first one .my goal is to read all eleven and then when im done with those ill go to a new book, its a real good book if someone starts reading it then im sure that the'll keep reading it and the series i mean it is that good.i'm almost done with the book.
I havn't read the whole series of Ranger's Apprentice because about half of them are on the other side of the world! Either that or I havn't found em' yet. But these are so good, even better then the Harry Potter series! I wish it was more famous, :( If you don't read them, THOU ART FIRED!!!
Morgan and I love these books. We fight over who gets to read it first when we finally get to check out the next book from the library. Books we both enjoy and talk about.
Wonderful series. I really have enjoyed these books. They are fast paced and well written. I recommend them to all of my young friends looking for a good series to read.
A great series for young adult readers - especially boys. The story line kept my attention throughout the book and the writing is very well done.

I loved all of theses books the were really good. I think this series is really well writen and they were awesome.
A exiting book of adventures. Will is such a cool character that will want to know his story. :)
A great series!! Many great adventures and I love that they are clean!!
quick and easy these books will entertain for a few hours of Ranger fun.
Way Good! I am currently re-reading the series.
They have a lot of action.
It was a really good book.
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
great stories. starting off the ranger's apprentice searies these are a must read for anyone.
Definitely a good book. If you have read Magician Apprentice and like it then you will like these books. You actually have to read the first 4 books to get to a stopping point in the series. Fourth book was my favorite. The author is pretty good. The action is constant and always keeps you interested.
I liked it, and it compelled you to really read the stories quickly, but the plot wasn't to thick, the mysteries too hard but the wars were pretty cool and the characters were well done. :) Reminds me of my brother, except my brother isn't that mature. :D
Maybe I can't help but fall for mystery/action novels that contain great writing and plot... not to mention teaching you how to be a Ranger.
Some of Gav's favorites so he recommended them to me. They were ok, definitely a teen-age boy adventure series.
books 1-5 are currently available in the US. A good, clean adventure story that isn't weird. Enjoyable to all ages.
The best books that I have EVER read since Harry Ptter.
THEY ARE AWESOME!!
