Shelves: chick-lit
Bought from the charity shop as it's about a stay at home mother, like myself. Unlike myself though, both of her childre are at school & she lives in Paris. Her life is a bit more glamorous than mine, but underneath, it's the same quest for an identity away from mummy that I'm striving to seek.

People need to stop being so harsh about this book! Yeah it's pretty straight forward and easy to read but that's a good thing! I thought it was funny, cleverly written in it's use of tense and what the characters were thinking, and also it's quite thought provoking. Was not expecting much from reading the reviews, but was actually pleasantly surprised. Was a fun, light read that is good for the morning commute when you might not yet be at full brain capacity!!

I love a good fluffy read but this just dragged on and on. The characters were unlike able and the pretentious setting a bore. Not worth the time it takes to read

My own fault - I expected an expat memoir but got chick-lit instead. Too light, full of cliches and mistakes: the family lives on the 5th floor in one chapter and on the 3rd in another. Irritating.

What I liked about it was the French setting. Otherwise the story was pretty straightforward.
