This Annual is a compilation of the Cook's Illustrated magazines from 1999. I purchased it after I got (and liked) a subscription to the magazine in 2001. The design is not the same as the current magazine, but the photography is high quality (it's comparable to current issues).

There are a lot of good recipes in this Annual. I especially liked the recipes for creole-style shrimp and sausage gumbo, bolognese sauce, and chunky guacamole.
