i was never crazy about this one. apparently practical joke fever has swept over the youth of stoneybrook, perhaps inspired by a slapstick film festival at the town library. i really enjoy the idea that every child in stoneybrook is anxiously anticipating a free film at the public library. how quaint. anyway, the kids find the films hilarious & start yukking it up with joy buzzers, whoopee cushions, water-squirting flowers, et al. claudia is less amused by all the practical joking going on (perh

One of the books that actually remind me of how young the girls are - surely a practical joke monster could have been handled better?

This one was okay. Predictable ending, but not back then. I was infuriated when I was reading it.

Claudia breaks her leg while sitting for one of her practical joke playing charges. Will she quit the baby-sitter's club out of fear for her safety? Will her pals be able to talk her into staying in the business? Keep turning those pages because I'm sure you wouldn't be able to figure it out on your own accord. (Gosh, I'm mean!)

This was one of the few early BSC books that I somehow missed reading as a child. I probably would have enjoyed it more at nine than I did at nineteen, but saying that I don't think the storyline was one of the more exciting ones. Still, an enjoyable bedtime read, especially after a stressful day at work. 7/10

this book has slightlly more kick than the other baby-sitters club books as a practical joke war breaks out, and of course the sitters eventually win. Though Claudia's leg suffers some minor damage. Another happy and totally satisfactory ending. Easy reading.

OUCH is all I can say! For some reason I read this one a LOT at the time. Really enjoyed it and the jokes - until the big one, of course.

This whole series is great for girls between 11-15 years old. I read every last one of them as I was growing up.
