OK, so I might be a little biased because Dana is family (in-law), but I was so impressed with her talent in this, her first book of a series. I read a lot, many types & many authors. The plot here is very standard genre, which may be the point. I often look for something different and quirky in the fantasy I like to read. If you're looking for something with the classic elements of high fantasy, this could be a good read for you. I didn't find anything new here to excite me.

I love this book so far.
And you wanna know what else?
Dana is dating my mom's cousin Eric.
Yeah, special huh?
I've met her and she is just full of surprises!
She sings, she paints, she writes...I dont know another person so talented!
