Seriously one of the best books for beginning improvisers, or people who would like to focus on story-driven improv like is done in long-form.

This book assumes you are an actor looking to use the tools of improv to become a better actor in scripted works. It will give you that. It is also just awesome.

“In fact, play is something that children do to help them grow, to stretch their limits as they investigate how well they can work with the world around them. When children are having fun, they push their limits.” 0 likes
“experience. I became an actor originally for the same reason I suspect that everyone else does: I liked to show off. People paid attention when I did, and consequently I could make my presence felt in the world. After three years of graduate school, however, this spark was being snuffed. This is why a sense of “play” is so important, and a reason why a class in improvisation where a playful atmosphere is maintained is so vital to one’s growth as an artist.” 0 likes
