Thorough and yet very accessible. One quibble: Nearly all of Kymlicka's criticisms are undertaken from his (liberal egalitarian) point of view. While some of them are definitely spot-on (e.g., his discussions of the communitarian critique of the liberal self and perfectionist strands of Marxism) and the emergence of the author's own outlook is almost inevitable (and by no means necessarily unwelcome), I still think he could have made a greater effort to canvass a broader set of perspectives.

Çağdaş siyaset felsefesi çerçevesinde liberal eşitlik, liberterlik, marksizm gibi 10'a yakın baskın siyasi görüşün etrafında dönen hemen hemen her tartışmaya yer veren ama bölümlerin ve cevaplanılması gereken soruların tasnifinde pek özen gösterilmemiş bir kitap.

Kitap, Mill'in faydacılığının, Rawls'un liberal eşitlikçiliğinin ve Nozick'in liberter felsefesinin güzel bir kritiğini yapmakla birlikte asıl enerjisini Komüniteryanizm'e sarfederek okuyucuyu ciddi şekilde boğuyor. Yazarın belli bir akışk

fascinating review of Rawls' theory of justice and moving into Libertarianism, especially Nozick Entitlement Theory on self ownership of property.
I could follow the final chapter on Marxism and Feminism as closely.

I found this to be a very fair and balanced primer. You certainly FEEL smart at the end. While I'm not sure it was the author's intent, I concluded that political philosophy is an exercise in persuasion that is doomed if it seeks a coherent set of principles that are "right".

Pretty interesting book. It's not too dry either. It feels like it is mostly about conceptions of Justice though even if some of these ways of thinking explicitly are against justice. I'm gonna shower as a reward for finishing this book.
