I read this book when I lived in Columbia, Missouri in 1976. I lost my copy. When I first read it, I was positive it was a critical radical tome by a another Canadian friend of Marchal McLuhan's. A later reread convinced me that I was a little too starstruck. I so want to read it again. I know this is an important book and a valuable perspective. Is it still in print? I know you can still find copies of "Phantom" but I have been unable to find a copy in ANY condition.

cool photos accompanied by text that's sometimes interesting and sometimes a bit stupid and of its time

Absolutely enlightening. I don't think a book has affected my outlook this much since reading the Tao. If you are interred in the nature of media, art, or human perception, find this book.

Came across references to this on Tumblr, hunted it down via inter-library loan. Small book but lots of intriguing, mind-pushing ideas. Will be chewing on this for a while.

A great look at the difference between observing and being involved. This comes from the perspective of human or artist according to the topic of the page.

Extraordinarily lucid analysis of people under the influence of media. Way ahead of his time.
