I wanted something light for the long weekend and this fitted the bill perfectly. The premise is the friendship of four women in there 30s/40s with a little romance on the side. Nice to be reading chicklit about Australian women my age. I also liked that the central character was in the process of writing a bodice ripper, and from time to time mentioned difficulties with structure echoing the novel itself. Now, back to my book club book...
I enjoyed this more than I thought I would. It's very 'light' and somewhat predictable but at the same time a nice story about a group of women who take a trip.... not just physical but also emotional.... friendship is the core of this novel.. and growth - it's definitely inspired me to get back into the swimming pool...just have to enlist a group of buddies to do it with :-)
