When a young gorilla is invited to go to a sleepover, he has a lot of things to worry about. What if I get lost? What if I can't find the bathroom? Will I miss my family? He learns that he is not the only one who had fears about staying over. This would be a good book about overcoming fear, doing new things, and that other friends may be just as scared as you are. A good book for preschoolers who maybe have not yet had a sleepover with friends.

the title gives it away :) this book is mostly about friendship- best friends have a sleep over!

Gilbert forgets his stuffed animal for his sleep over and when it became bed time...Gilbert fell apart he was so upset. Just until Ricky gave Gilbert his stuffed animal. I couldn't help but to laugh at myself when reading this. I can totally relate to George as far as being nervous about sleeping some place that isn't familiar; even if it is amongst friends. When I was about six, my parents let me stay the night with my cousins. Initially, I was super excited, but once it was time or bed, I was an emotional wreck!!! Luckily, my parents only stayed about 10-15 minutes away, so they were able to come get me.
Nicely detailed illustrations. I would read this book to a kid who was about to go on a sleepover for the first time. Also teaches about generosity.
So adorable! :D
