the theme common in most of these short stories is death .....
besides the story of Innocent Erendira ,these four stories was interesting to me...
The third resignation.
i think this one is extraordinary,describes the fear of death,burial,solid ate and abandonment ....he has gone furthest in dramatizing the terror of burial.....

تتحوى تلك المجموعه طبعا على قصص كثيره لكنى سأركز على رائعه إيريندا و جدتها القاسي

Bellissima raccolta di Marquez, racconti unici nel loro genere , vi si ritrovano le atmosfere magiche e quali ancestrali di cent' anni di solitudine, e altri gradevoli sorprese, ogni racconto è un mondo a se stante ,un bellissimo mondo a se stante, perfettamente completo e evocativo nella sua brevità. يقول درويش:"الموت لا يوجع،الموتى الموت يوجع،الأحياء
لكن ماركيز قد رأه يوجع الموتى أيضاً.. ولِمَ لا يُوجع الموتى؟! أليسوا أحياءً في مكان ما..!

ولكن ما هو اكثر احتمالاً أنه قد غدا الآن غارقاً في استسلامه للاحتضار إلى حد أنه قد يموت من جراء الاستسلام.

This is a good start for ggb readers. The title story, at 60 pages practically a novella, is beautiful. "Innocent Eréndira..." has moments of colorful magical realism, particularly during the grandmother character's bouts of sleep-talking.
There is a series of vaguely-connected shorts on the blur between sleep and death in the middle of the collection. These I didn't enjoy. The stream-of-consciousness technique and inner-dialogue made them difficult to follow.

A bunch of strange stories, half of which make no sense - or even if they do, the 'sense' is often pointless. That's typical Marquez for you, I guess.
'The Third Resignation' is by far the most riveting story in this collection. It talks about death - various kinds of death - and the interior monologue of the dead man is disturbingly claustrophobic for the reader. I'd recommend this story to anyone.

Another collection of short stories, and Marquez excels in the format. Ler "A incrível e triste história da cândida Eréndira e da sua avó desalmada" foi como estar a ver um filme de Hayao Miyazaki com partes menos próprias... o que é óptimo! Não sei até que ponto o Nobel foi merecido pois, apesar de ter gostado imenso, não me parece material de Nobel da Literatura. Si hubiera que clasificar este libro en géneros, diría que pertenece al de la "nouvelle": no es una historia corta (short story) y no es una novela, está en el medio, es una novela corta, pero por supuesto escucho opiniones.

Ha sido casualidad que en menos de una semana haya acabado leyendo dos historias de García Márquez, y la verdad es que he quedado encantada.
Su estilo es sencillo y directo. Es un gusto leer literatura hispánica de vez en cuando, porque entre tanto autor extranjero, a veces echo de menos los ricos matices de nuestra lengua. Y en ésto, García Márquez es un maestro. Ha escrito tanto y ha escrito tan bien, que siempre es un gusto.

If you're in the mood to feel like everything in the world is unhappy and unfair... than this is the book for you!! I've heard about authors writing about the real world but come on! There's nothing realistic about this! It's just a cranky old man who's view on life is bleak, writing just to make known the fact that he hates the world. I give this 2 thumbs way down and will not recommend to anyone. Every story has the same message....life sucks so deal with it. It gets really old really fast. If...more

احببت قصة ايرينديرا البريئة وكرهت جدا استغلال جدتها لها
هل الظروف ممكن تبرر الاعمال وتدفعنا لاشياء ننكرها ربما ايرينديرا تناقش ذلك
هناك قصص اخري محببة للنفس في المجموعة لكن هناك ايضا العديد من القصص الغير مفهومة أعتقد انها تستحق قراءة ثانية لعل الامور تنجلي خاصة واني قرأتها في وقت دراسة وضغط

The ones I liked the most are the ones about the Old Man with wings, the Drowned Man, and the Erendira One.

This is the second time I read Innocent Erendira and her Heartless Grandmother, the first time so long ago I didn't remember much. I would give the book five stars, but when comparing it to One Hundred Years of Solitude, one of the greatest novels ever written, I couldn't give it the same rating. Este deve ser o livro com o título mais longo que já li (ainda bate "A rapariga que sonhava com uma lata de gasolina e um fósforo" em alguns caracteres)... e é engraçado que quando lia este título interpretava sempre a palavra "cândida" como fazendo parte do nome e não como um adjectivo que caracteriza a Eréndira. Só ao ler a história é que percebi o meu engano mas ainda me é difícil ler o título com a interpretação mental correcta... mistérios do cérebro... :)

Definitivamente Gabriel García Márquez es mi cuentista favorito del mundo. Todo lo que necesito en la vida: emoción, poesía, humor, amor lo puedo encontrar en sus cuentos no en sus novelas. Esta es definitivamente una de sus mejores colecciones y se la recomendaría enfáticamente a todos los que deseen conocer exactamente porqué fue Premio Nobel de Literatura en 1985. Asi que este es el mejor libro para comenzar a quererlo y seguramente nadie a quien le sea regalado quedará inmune al genio colomb...more
If you want adult fairy tales and lore, this is for you. Garcia Marquez has his own genre to contend with and it's works like these that make him a recognizable figure in your literary consciousness. لم اقرا لماركيز قبل الان وارتايت ان ابدا باوائل اعماله حتى استطيع ان اقيم تطور اعماله ويبدو اننى اتخذت اسوأ قرار على الاطلاق
فلم استطع ان اقرا الا اول قصه وهى ايرينديرا وجدتها الضارية
الترجمة بشعه .... والقصه لم اجد فيها مايعجبنى على الاطلاق سوى ربما شخصية اوليسيس التى كرهتهاايضا فى النهايه... ولم اجد فى ايرينديرا شيئا من البراءه التى يتحدث عنها ماركيز لم اجد فيها الا الضعف والانحلال من البدايه للنهايه ... فعلا اندم على كل لحظه ضيعتها فى قراءة هذه القصه القصيرة !!!!!
