You want to start writing songs with cohesive chord progressions, I'd recommend starting here. I do think having knowledge of chords ahead of time is a good idea when using this book to help in writing songs with this book, as it makes it just a little easier of a process. I found the book well set up and useful with more than enough information to get the songwriting ball rolling.
