Currently reading this book and it's different from the books that I've read from this author. I am used to reading love stories with drama and this one has a love interest but it also has the characters involved in organized crime. I'm curious to see how the story esculates and/or turns for the worst.. At least that's the direction it seems like it's going in but it's intriguing and I can't wait to find out what is going to happen next.

Wasn't really feeling it at first. After picking it up for a second time, it was much better. Maybe it was the fact that I couldn't get with the things they were doing at first. But after you go thru personal situations, desperation calls, and I was then able to see life from the same perspective as the characters.

This was my first book by this author and I doubt that I will read another of his. It wasn't bad (2.5 stars) but I found parts of it uninteresting to boring, particularly during the first half or so of the book, while other parts we pretty good. A good ending, which is rare.

Had a tough time getting through this book. If you love action, drama and suspense, you may enjoy it, but it was a bit overwhelming with violence and lacked a overall message, which is common in his previous works. It was just...okay

Thieves' paradise had just enough of everything. It had enough romance, enough of the hood, and enough internal/external conflicts to keep it interesting. The characters were believable, and the ending wasn't predictable.

to say it was amazing might be pushing it - BUT i was really impressed with EJD's willingness to try something different. I loved the characters and was impressed with the paradise of thieves.....

I thought it was slow in the beginning even though it pulled me into the story but I kept waiting for that moment that takes control and you can't put the book down. It's not one of my favorites, however it does explain a few of the characters that come into play in Sleeping with the enemy, Waking with strangers and Dying for Revenge...so the advice that I received to go back and read Thieves' Paradise was a good one. I would share that sentiments to get the introduction of some of the characte

Thieves' Paradise was the first book I willingly pick up after I graduated from high school, and it helped to transform me into the leisure reader I am today. It’s been a while since I’ve read this book, but I can still remember the thrill of it all. This book had it all suspense, action, romance, you name it. I have been an EJD fan ever since!

One of my favorite books by EJD. He really hit the mark with this one. I loved the characters, the storyline, his descriptions etc. Also good to read as some of the characters reappear in subsequent books.

Dickey's prose isn't alluring but he has decent plots that carry readers through his books, slowly but surely. This is the first and last of his books that I have read.
