A very quick, easy read in 150 pages - a modern day comical adventure of pirates, danger, treasure, romance in Florida. Apparently first written as newspaper installments. The classical pirate and 'jokey' dialog was funny at times and got old for me at other times, but this is easy light fluff that will appeal to many MS readers.
Summary: "16 yr old Jenny Snow of South Florida finds the adventurous life she craves when she joins forces with 18 yr old Coop DeVille, a 7th generation pir More...

Very witty and funny book that deals with Teenagers that are mooody and silly yet fun. We read this after we had been to Florida and it was a nice little add on to our own adventures there. The parrot was a riot and we wished we had little vespas too. Teenage love at its best between moody bored beach bums and serious pirates. The rock added a second layer to the plot. Reminded me a litle of the Hoot Book.

This book was originally published serially, and I think I would have liked it more if I had read it that way. It started off good, very funny, and I read about half in one day. However, it took me almost 2 weeks, I think, to get through the second half. The humor got old, and I never really cared about any of the characters. If I could, I'd give it 2.5 stars.

This book was originally published as weekly installments in a newspaper. It was a very quick read, and it had some really humorous moments. It is a story about a modern day pirate, a super bored 16 year old girl and her equally bored parents, and some buried treasure.

Jennings is like a Kurt Vonnegut Jr. for kids. His books are whitty and meander in a very similar fashion. I also love that he has traveling characters, through his books.

Reminds me of an 18-year-old Captain Jack Sparrow trying to survive in the 21st century. Funny.

It was cute but I couldn't really get into it despite the number of pirates involved.
