The full title of this book is "Imaginal Worlds: Ibn al- `Arabī and the Problem of Religious Diversity". Ibn al- `Arabī was a great Sufi mystic and philosopher who died in the mid thirteenth century. It is important to note that Ibn Arabi is not a theologian, though one can't say he is outside of theology. Rather he explores the bridges (berzah) in between the ontology and epistemology of everything there is and there might be. Considering the importance he bestows on the imagination and the discovery through it (keşf) one might even dare to call him a spiritualist. walalupun buku ini dikarang oleh seorang orientalist, kiranya tak terlalu jadi masalah bagi umat islam, justru para orientalist sangat tertarik untuk mengkaji islam walalupun tujuannya tidak selalu benar. sudah saatnya orang islam sendiri lebih memahami dan memberikan analisis atas karya-karya orientalist secara beradab.
