Recommends it for: parents reading with their children
This is a fun book of short stories. They are from England, America and Australia, and you can tell the difference by the dialogue, local idioms, cultural references and sense of humor. I thought several of the stories fell flat, but our girls really loved them. They just kept asking for more and more. There were no common threads between the stories, but all had a humorous element.

Andrew Matthews was born in South Glamorgan in 1948. Andrew taught English in Hampshire after which he became a full-time writer. He lives in Reading with his wife and their cats. Andrew's work has been widely translated and he has made numerous appearances at schools and libraries throughout the UK.
