Stella Termogen is my all time favorite book, and not just because I was named after it.
No matter how many times I've read it, the second I'm done I want to go right back to the first page again and read it all over. This is a story about an extra ordinary girl living in extra ordinary times, ranging from Berlin post World War I to a few years past World War II.
The book drew me into Stella's world and made me fall in love with her, or at least be like her when I grew up.

Wonderful novel about a woman, Stella, born in 1916 in Berlin, Germany, and even though she came from a very poor family, Stella finally ended up living with her uncle and his family on the picturesque isle of Sylt (it's like Nantucket).
During WW II Stella is lucky once more spending most of the war time years in Malaysia.
How she finally finds true love back in Germany is a very compelling story.
Highly recommended.
