Pg 91:
The passages at the end of each chapter between 2 nameless characters who don't seem to be any of the main characters are kind of annoying. Right now I feel like they aren't adding anything and are just slowing me down.

Finished:
The book might have been creepier if it had focused more on the family than on the bad guy. It's kind of hard to develop tension or terror when you have to read his every inane thought, even if there's no reason or explanation for them. I would ...more

This was an AWESOME suspense book, and sure to turn anybody off of a one night stand. A college girl has too many drinks and sleeps with the wrong guy. When he starts stalking her, he makes life difficult for anybody who tries to protect her. This book kept me blue from holding my breath from beginning to end.

EXCEEDINGLY WELL WRITTEN
This is one of the best thrillers I've ever read in a long time, it has an outstanding and riveting plot, more than great character development, gut wrenching situations, appropiate pace and a very unexpected crafted ending brightly conceived. It also features polished, colorful prose, The author at the top of his talent gave shape to an extremely compelling novel that I've enjoyed a lot. Even the title of the book holds a surprise. A state of the art thriller worthy...more

Wow... this book was really one heck of a ride!! Filled with suspense and uncertainty from the first page to the very last, I could barely force myself to put it down along the way. The story centers around a man's relentless stalking of college student Ashley Freeman after they have a drunken one-night-stand. While Ashley considers the whole event a meaningless "mistake", Michael is convinced they are meant to be together forever, no matter what it takes. A typical stalker's obses...more

OK..I am officially skittish about writing a review of a book in the thriller genre. It seems that what thrills one may not thrill another and that while sex and violence sells its a turn on for some and less so for others. That said there is some but remarkably little overt sex and violence in this book. This is a book about mind games and what rational people will do in irrational situations. Its about coincidences and what happens when a truly smart but demented character manipulates those ci...more

A female college art student makes a "one night stand" mistake. The young man becomes obsessed with making her his own forever. He calls her, he e-mails her, he professes his undying love, he stalks. The girl's divorced parents get involved and eventually devise a very complicated plot to extract her
from the dilemma. I am a John Katzenbach fan but this one just didn't feel exactly right to me.

Like a typical Bollywood potboiler, one can almost predict the end even before the book is even half read. However, that is the WRONG ending, and justice is served with a twist. Those who loved Jeffery Archer's twist in the tale, would like this one even better, for the never ending suspense/fright, as also the concluding denounce.

This was a good a mystery as I have ever read with many twists and turns. A really appealing feature included the feeling that the reader could easily identify with the characters who needed to protect their child from a sick preditor. I found myself asking the question: how far would I go to take a child of mine out of harm's way?

Scott Freeman a college professor grounded in the rational and practical, he becomes uneasy after finding an anonymous love letter hidden in his daughter's room. But the reality of Ashley's plight far exceeds Scott's worst suspicions. One drink too many had led Ashley, a beautiful, bright art student, into what she thought was just a fling with a blue-collar bad boy. But now, no amount of pleading or reasoning can discourage his phone calls, ardent e-mails, and constant, watchful gaze. The harde...more

This book could have been edited by about 100 pages. It just rambled on and on and on. Too long and too much.

Okay, so let's assume that the stalking laws do not work and what these characters tried to put into motion was the only way to deal with O'Connell. What a bunch of bumblers. No one checked the gun to see if it was ready to fire. No one thought of the fact that perhaps after they framed O'Connell he might get off on an insanity plea. Oy vey. And there were a LOT of inconsisten...more

I got this from a friend this past summer and finally got around to reading it. Well, TRYING to read it. I was okay with the 'typical' stalker story line, until they started talking about how he killed cats. Yeah...that was enough for me! Sorry :(

It was ok though i do't agree with "One of the scariest novels I've read" comment on the front cover. i would'nt rave about it
Esteban
it is a fairly good book, quite entertaining, the ending was a bit of a letdown (the way it was written)

the book started out real good, very intense and attention grabbing.. then it kept dragging on.. and on and on. after a while, i got kinda bored with it and when i finally did make it to the ending it was rather disappointing. i wont be in any rush to read another book from this author.
Cheryl
Oh, I loved this book. Nothing like revenge to make for a good read.
Susan
Very good, suspenseful and unusual twists.
Marti
a very good thriller.
Steve Sawczyn
A fantastic thriller with an awesome twist. Highly recommend.
Lindsey Holloway
This book was annoying. The only redeeming characters in this book were the dog that dies and the guy that gets beaten with a metal pole.
Marnie Meisner
I really enjoyed this book. The who did it and who got actually killed kept me going. Although I was quite disappointed with the ending. I thought it could have had more ooomph! But still like the fact that the 2 stories being told while reading, kept you guessing. And yes, it really does make you think how far would you go to protect your child from harms way.

it was interesting book , just reading this book make you think twice who you met or date .
Melinda
very creepy and scary if you have daughters. but still a good page turner.

Hochgradig langweilig und belanglos dieses Buch, die Story kann man auf wenigen Seiten zusammenfassen. Alles ist irgendwie langweilig und vorhersehbar, kurz: mit Kriminalroman hat das nicht viel zu tun :(

Good read. What would you do if your child was the object of a stalker? How does one become the object of obsession? What lengths would you go to (within the law) to resolve this problem? If legal avenues don't work, what would you do? You've got to read this book!

I was a little disappointed with this book. I have never read this author before and thought the synopsis of the novel sounded pretty interesting. It seemed that there were too many things happening in one novel. Plus, some of it was pretty unbelievable.
Kristin
This book was ok. That's about all I can muster for it. IT was good enough for me to finish it but not so good that I was thinking about it whaen I wasn't reading it. I picked it up only when I didn't have anything better to do.
Andres Moreira
It's an interesting book to spend a nice moment, but just that. I like the author style, but sometimes is a bit "predictable". However, the way that they describe situations and places is one of the best I've read.
