I was pretty disappointed with this book. We met Rule in She's No Fairie Princess where he seemed like a great hero. I liked Rule in this book as well but his character wasn't really fleshed out. All I know about him is that he was part of the Watch in the Demon world who protects the Upper world from fiends, who are bad demons. I have no idea what life is like in the Demon world, how their society works or what type of life Rule had there before we met him.

The heroine, Abby, is just plain TSTL

Abby Baker is a research assistant for a local TV station. When she's on a riot scene to help cover a story, she becomes possessed by a fiend Lou (a not so bad guy). Lou is on the run from Uzkiel (bad guy), a fiend who wants a special spell that will give him an advantage in his fight with the demons (good guys). Lou had been acting as an informer for the demon Rule (good guy), and now Rule is searching for him since he went missing. Rule finds Lou in Abby's body, and immediately takes Abby into ...more

Okay, this was definitely my favourite in the series so far. I loved Rule, who was strong and sexy and really awesomely annoyed at people who kept mixing him up with the fiends he was trying to hunt. As you would be, I suppose. The heroine I didn't like quite as much, but I did still understand where she was coming from even if she was a bit stupid at first. My biggest issue with the book was that the author fell back on the whole "instant attraction" thing, which almost always makes me groan an ...more

The Others have been outed and as predicted, the humans aren't taking the existence of witches, vampires, werewolves and were-anything very well. There are riots going on in New York City and Abby Baker is stuck in the middle. She's busy cowering behind a bunch of cars when a group of thugs start beating up a teenage Other. When the Other gets knocked into her, the demon snatched his opportunity and possessed her. Well, not a demon, a fiend. Rule is a demon and he has nothing in common with Lou, ...more

I was disappointed with this book. I liked Rule in the last book and I was excited for him to have his own book. But this one didn't work for me.

Abby was terrible. She was whiney and rude and just plain dumb. She was having a pretty bad day. I get it. I would freak the hell out if I found out I had a fiend inside me too. But my god she went bat shit crazy. She was yelling and insulting the only freaking people who could save her. Telling Rule how unholy he is. And poor Tessa.. If I was Tessa I w

Oh boy. I picked up this book because the library bookstore works on the honor system and I didn't have correct change. That's what I get for not looking too closely when I grabbed it.

The story started out well enough. Demons. Werewolves. Riots. All the good stuff. I was drawn right into the story and stayed there for nearly two hundred pages.

Then, as I paraphrase the kid from the Princess Bride, it turned into a kissing book. Then it went on to turn into more than a kissing book.

Well, it trie

This book took one of the more interesting characters of She's No Faerie Princess and told his story. The Others have Unveiled the presence to the human world and humans are adjusting; some well and others not so much. This is the story of the demon Rule and a mild mannered human named Abigail who happens to be fiend-posessed.
Good story, good characters, and a nice way to pass a lazy day.

This book is not soley based on vampires...but it has them in it. I LUV Lou. He has a great sense of humor. Then there is Rule...he is so kool. The author also has a way with words. It was SO funny at times. The ending sux though cause it seemed she was suddenly in a hurry to finish the book, so there was not a lot of info of what happened tween Abby and Rule. Twas still a great book.

I loved this book. I have almost all of Christine Warrens books of the others. This is about Rule , the demon from below (as they call what we know as hell) and is up top on our plane looking for a minor demon for information on a really bad demon who wants to take over hell. He finds the minor demon inside Abby (who just happens to be his mate) who unknowingly gets possessed by him . Makes a great story. Highly recommend.

I don't really know how to feel about this series. There's nothing blatantly awful about it, but at the same time there isn't much to make it stand out from the numerous other paranormal romance novels I've read. The word average sums up this book perfectly--a mindless, predictable, but not unpleasant read.

In the continuity of the series, the "Others"--that is, vampires, werewolves, fae, and all manner of supernatural beings have made the choice to reveal themselves to the human populations, and

The Demon You Know is the third entry into Christine Warren’s The Others Series. The first two were hits for me but this one? Well, there are some hilarious moments as well as a lot of fun scenes featuring the rest of the cast. But the heroine, Abby Baker, is the queen of TSTL.

Kate Reading’s narration saved this one for me. She’s so good with the multitude of voices – voices that stay true to the characters across the series. Her ability to catch each litt

Another absolutely fantastic addition to the already amazing Other series!!! ;) Rule sounded incredibly hot and sexy and droolworthy lol and I really liked how strong Abby was. I mean she did have her little stupid or weak moments, but she was always fighting to survive and keep her loved ones alive. I was sad that Lou died, I actually kinda liked the little perv lol but at least he died honorably :) The sex was super hot and delicious, I just wish there would have been more than just two scenes ...more

The ending almost took this down to a 2 star read for me. I was disappointed in how many of the characters acted, but liked the rest of the book enough to deal.

What I enjoyed:
* Lou, the fiend. He was good comic relief.
* Abby's brother, Noah. In fact, I'm going to have to check to see if he has a starring role in any of the newer books.
* The other females at club and the friendships they developed with Abby.

What could have been better:
* The end. Abby was TSTL, although she did eventually make up
Paranormal Romance
After being possessed by a Fiend (aka a bad demon) the heroine is kidnapped by the hero and the Others to both protect her as well as the Fiend within from falling into the enemies hands. The hero is calm, sensible yet animalist with his relationship with the heroine. He lusts after her but his kind doesn't immediately recognize a mate like wolves do. Only after sleeping with her does he realize she's his. The heroine, once mousy and shy, is argumentative and outspoken as a result of her ...more

It took a while for Christine Warren's books to grow on me. I really enjoy Big Bad Wolf and Walk on the Wild Side. This third addition in the Other series involves a human named Abby who has one blue eye and one brown. Apparently this makes it easier for witchcraft and "fiends" to inhabit her body. After finding herself in the middle of riot and trying to escape unharmed Abby is saved from harm by two feline werewolves. They realize something isn't quite normal about her and with the assistance ...more

The third book in the series was entertaining from the start. It caught your interest right away and kept you interested. Warrens previous book She's No Faerie Princess was slow to start but this one wasn't. I enjoy Warren's sense of humour. Unfortunately they aren't doing so well at adjusting. Riots abound in cities and the an innocent gets ...more

I really don't like it when the main characters are being chastised because I believe that main characters are the center of the story and they can't be so so wrong. So when Abby escaped and was blamed by Tess, I really didn't like it and for the first time I hated Tess. But I understand it already, everything is cleared and I know the essence of unperfection in a story. And some spice.
I didn't want Lou to die but I guess I don't have a choice because almost realistic and some people just die.

My favorite, laugh out loud part of the book...

"Before her brother could guess her intentions, she grabbed him by the arm, swept his feet out from under him, and tossed him over her shoulder like feather pillow. He landed like a ton of bricks. "What the *uck?" Relishing the gesture, Abby brushed her hands together and grinned smugly down at him. "Like I said, I'm not completely defenseless." Thunderclouds rolled in across Noah's expression. Cursing a blue streak, he flipped himself to his feet a

Abby is a good Catholic girl, she blends into the background and likes it there. Until one night she is caught in the middle of an Others protest, she finds herself possessed by a rogue demon. In comes Rule, a sort of Demon Guardian. Romance blossoms and mayhem ensues.

There are some things I didn't like about this story. Mainly Abby, she is headstrong, far too stubborn, and frankly rolls her eyes far too much. In short I found her pretty damn annoying for the most part. I don't know what it is

To start off with, I started this series so I could read this book. I liked the title straight away, I was intrigued. It was funny and light but I liked the different story line that the 'others', the paranormal creatures of the world, are out of the closet. No more hiding because the humans know all about you. *points*

I was looking forward to Rule's book as we met him in She's No Fairie Princess, he was a Demon cop and pretty smexy. I liked Abby from the start, however she did have quite a few

I honestly can't deny that the heroine had her TSTL moments. But at the same kinda made sense to me. I mean, she had SO LITTLE knowledge of the world she was thrust into. Why on earth would she trust everything these people said? Why wouldn't she desperately reach out to someone she DID trust? Why wouldn't she trust...oh, but that's a spoiler.
In spite of the TSTL moments, I really liked this one. I dug the lead female for what she was and I thought what she was was a good match for the

I had been looking forward to this one, but was disappointed. The set-up was interesting however the kidnapping was over the top. Ms. Warren tends to have very nosy, interfering secondary characters and this was no exception. The women (Other and human) from previous books come in to alternately rebuke Abby or tell her she's a prude for not jumping in the sack with an Other she barely knows. The men (all Others but her brother) don't bother to ever tell her what's going on and then complain when ...more

This takes place a few weeks after the Unveiling. Humans are rioting all over the world protesting against the "Others".

Abby, a news researcher, was corralled into assisting an over-eager colleague in covering the Manhattan riots. She not only got stranded in the middle of it all but was inadvertently possessed by a minor fiend.

Rule, a Demon enforcer, came to Manhattan in search of his missing informant who has information regarding an archfiend intending on taking over the known Universe. When

I know that it looks like I may have struggled with this book but that is not the case. I have been working on Christmas presents so I have been reading much. I love this world and its many inhabitants. If there is a myth then there seems to be a representative in Ms. Warren's world. I also loved that Demon's are not all bad and can in some instants be good. I have a real weak spot for a growly alpha male and Rule is all that and more. DNF because I couldn't stand Abby as a character. Not sure what Rule sees in her, as we are told and shown over and over that she is mousy, boring, quiet, and so completely wrapped up in herself that she will go haring off on her own without consideration for others.

I'm not sure why it takes so long for it to sink in that she's possessed and that something is wrong in the beginning... as if the voice in her head wasn't proof enough. Just the most frustrating case of ostrich sinking its head int
