Well written story of a woman who "hid in plain sight", disguised as a non-Jew during the Holocaust. I also was interested in the perspective from her husband & her story of the aftermath of the war

One of my relatives is relates by marriage to Lala, making it all the more engaging for me to read. After reading Lala's account of her survival during World War II in Europe, it made me so very thankful that I live in the U.S.A. I wanted to thank all of our service men and women for all they do to protect our freedoms. Lala's story is uplifting, inspiring, shocking, and riveting.

This is a phenomenally touching read! The author is the grandmother of a former student so it have me a little extra interest in the story. Very sad yet well written!
