Sexy vampires on another planet. It had many of the love acts that I like, minus m/m and menage. I have no real criticism except I couldn't feel any real chemistry between the H and the H. Admittedly, I had to read it hiding in my car and in the bath, not the most ideal places but certainly private. Some of my best reading is done in those spots.
Chosen Sin left me kind of flat. There were some interesting twists but not enough to hold me for long.

I’m really hoping that The Chosen Sin is the first in a new series of Vampire erotica by an author I really enjoy, Anya Bast. This book is really quite an adventure, with lots of characters and a unique plot line that sucked me in from the beginning. Let me try to explain…

Kick ass book. Lots of hot vampire sex and a decent plot to go along with it. Hopefully she will make this a series, cause I would love to read more!

I have just finished reading "The Chosen Sin" by: Anya Bast, There are 309 pages of supernatural drama and romance.
The book is very erotic and edgy with a lot of steamy passionate moments within the book. It is based an a newly formed territory called Darpong and it is within a new galaxy because Earth has become over filled with humans. As it is a futuristic time in the book there are many different technologies and terms used.

Disappointing main story but interesting potential subplot.
REVIEWER'S OPINION:
My favorite part of the book was the bad guy Sante. After reading this book, I was surprised at my own response of wishing the author had changed a couple of things and made it into a story about Sante redeeming himself and becoming a good guy. In fact, he was a good guy in some ways. I was intrigued with him, I liked some of what he did, and I liked his true love relationship with someone. I felt sympathy and hurt for...more

It was just okay. I like Anya Bast and was really hoping to like this one. I had a hard time getting into it. "Valerie" was really annoying me most of the time and I found myself not caring too much about their mission to uncover Sante's secrets. There was also lack of a world. It's taking place in this Chosen city haven, but the description of it is lacking. The betrayal is almost handed to you throughout the book. There's nothing that stood out and grabbed me or kept me intrigued.

I almost never blend my paranormal with scifi, but this was a great melange. The heroine was hard nosed and stubborn, but not to a complete fault. I was able to figure out the bad guys, but not the ending. That was something new for me.
This is a futuristic vampire tale with a twist. In order to become a "Chosen one" you must not only be bitten you have to break through a metaphysical wall. Daria hates the Chosen and everything about them. However, she willing becomes one in order to exact her re...more

This one was a bit different. The atmosphere, setting, etc... was very different in a "sci-fi" kinda way, but it worked very well with this story.
The plot was different in the sense that it was so predictable you would find yourself "knowing" how things will turn out only to realize you were completely wrong! So that's what I loved about this one. There is still the all too present push and pull of the H/H struggling to give in to their true feelings **rolls eyes** This is so irritating @ times...more

"It was frightening to take your love and put it all into someone else, let them walk around with it like they held a fragile, expensive piece of china…and hope they didn’t trip and drop it. There was nothing she could do about it, no armor she could don to protect herself. The deed was done. The bargain struck. It had all been accomplished without her knowledge, without her consent or even her will. Love was like that. Love was careless that way. It just wanted what it wanted and didn’t think a...more
This was my first Anya Bast book and I really enjoyed it. I'm not a big fan of sci-fi, but this had enough story going that it kept my interest despite the sci-fi stuff. I loved Alejandro in all his alpha sexiness; and Daria was a nice counterpoint to his 'straight man' personality. The story flowed nicely and I didn't find myself skipping over fluff in the book.
My only possible negative comment would be that I found the culmination of the story and the comeuppance of the bad guy to be a little...more

I'm not really sure how I feel about this book. There was nothing exactly wrong about it, but I never found myself caring whether our heroes were going to get out of their situation in one piece. I'm also torn about the bad guy. There were times when he came across as an amoral killer who reveled in his bloodlust and then there were times when he was portrayed as a man wracked by guilt over what he's done. Instead of making me relate to him, as I think it was trying to do, it just made me confus...more

Anya Bast is yet another erotica author who is making the move to mainstream publishing. I'm a big fan of her Elemental Witches series. Her writing has always (ok, everything I've read) leaned toward the dark fantasy/paranormal and "The Chosen Sin" is no different. I found this book to be light erotica which is still pretty darn hot for mainstream. The story contains some light BDSM and anal play so if that's not for you...don't read it!

Couldn't get into this book, and finished about page 70. Awesome hero, but the heroine just too angsty and not mentallly in a good place. Parts of the plot aren't very believable (which is funny from a book about vampires in space). Heroines dialogue is sometimes sophmoric, as are her reactions to the hero, I skipped to the last two pages and heroine still didn't own any big girl panties.
The TBR is calling me, I'm done with this one.

This is a somewhat erotic vampire romance set on another planet in the future featuring undercover government agents. For me, that's just too much. I think the undercover agent part pushed me over my believeability limit ;-) Seriously, though, it's well written enough, but it wasn't enough of any one genre for me. It wasn't that erotic, the sci fi was an afterthought, and the fantasy elements weren't compelling for me. It's well written, but didn't hook me, and I didn't care about the characters...more
Disappointing. I bought this because of happy memories of a short story by Angela Knight about vampires in space, and because I really enjoyed Witch Fire. However, the science was iffy (it would have improved greatly if only there wasn't randomly another galaxy thrown in there - as another reviewer said, why another galaxy? Why can't this take place, far more plausibly, in our own galaxy?), the world-building was lacklustre, and the heroine drove me nuts. Alejandro had potential as a hero, but h...more
What a disappointment. I like this author's previous work with the Elemental Witches series, but this book was a COMPLETE waste of time.
The worst part of it was the first four chapters were amazing. She set up a really cool world with interesting ideas, and a hero and heroine I was all set to root for.
Then everything went to crap. The plotline turned sour, the relationship between the main characters lost its momentum and turned completely predictable and lame. By the time the ending came, I was...more

Alejandro "the Chest" Martinez partners with revenge-obsessed Daria "High-Maintenance" Moran in this vampires in outer space futuristic romance that has everything and the kitchen sink thrown in - utopian biodomes, drug smuggling teddy bears, dirt bikes, kidnapping - the list goes on. But despite such proliferation of non-necessities, the romance itself is sweet, if a little one-sided. Alejandro is a manly vampire, after all, he sports the Chest of the Universe. Daria, on the other hand, can be...more
This book was good from start to finish. The chemistry between Daria and Alejandro was off the charts! I really liked Anya Bast's style of writing. I will have to check out some more of her stuff. If you want a fast-paced, exciting story with great sex, given this one a try. You won't be disappointed.
A very easy read. Light on the erotica side, what’s there is more BDSM to some, the kind a chicken like me can read, there is no sex pain in this book, there is some tie up and anal play. Alejandero is a hot dominating vampire with out all the bells and whistles that comes with BDSM, in other words he loves to control then gives pleasure and love, he is also very protective.
My problem with this book is I found nothing special about the story it seemed to drag to much for me.. The heron Daria is...more

The Chosen Sin starts out of the gate with a bang and just doesn’t stop, even up to the last page! The storyline is set in a very interesting futuristic world where vampires are out of the coffin closet. They have basically carved out a bit of vampy paradise on another planet because people in the future don’t really like them any more than they do today...
