Sexy vampires on another planet. It had many of the love acts that I like, minus m/m and menage. I have no real criticism except I couldn't feel any real chemistry between the H and the H. Admittedly, I had to read it hiding in my car and in the bath, not the most ideal places but certainly private. Some of my best reading is done in those spots.
Chosen Sin left me kind of flat. There were some interesting twists but not enough to hold me for long.

Daria Moran is an agent that works for a government organization called the Allied Bureau of Investigation. This agency operates a lot like the FBI, however this book takes place in a future that is not ours, and on planets that don’t exist in the world we know. There is another organization that operates in conjunction with the ABI, and it’s called the GBC, the Governing Body of the Chosen. This is a lawmaking organization that is in charge of all of the “Chosen” or vampires. This is where it gets a little confusing. You can be made into a Chosen, by being bitten by and then ingesting the blood of another Chosen. However, if you aren’t predisposed in your DNA to accept the “Choosing” then you can be caught in an in-between, always needing to feed on sex to achieve fulfillment and satisfy the unending hunger. Daria is not predisposed with the DNA, but for an undercover job, she is willing to take the chance. She will only allow one Chosen to turn her, and that man is Alejandro Martinez.

Alejandro is an agent with the GBC, and when Daria approaches him to turn her into a Chosen for a specific job, he cant turn her down. For years Alejandro has lusted after her, and he is also willing to take the chance of the “Choosing” going badly, just to be with Daria again. First she has to survive the “Choosing”, and then they are on a mission together to take down an extremely bad vampire named Sante, who has kidnapped someone very important. Alejandro and Daria must go deep undercover, pretending to be lovers and partners while attempting a very dangerous and important rescue mission. Can the two of them stay under the radar long enough to save their victim and take down Sante, or will their lust for one another get in the way?

This book is really fairly complicated, so I really had to pay attention while I was reading. Once I got the hang of all the characters and their contributions to the plot, I was deeply engrossed in the story, and I couldn’t wait to find out what happened. There are so many government organizations, new planets and interesting cities, that I wanted to keep reading just to find out more about this new world that Anya Bast had created. There is lots of sexual tension leading up to the actual sex, so by the time it happened, I was practically begging for it. I highly recommend The Chosen Sin to Paranormal Romance lovers as well as Sci-fi and Fantasy fans. This is way more than just your average Vampire story. Give it a shot!

For an erotic romance, you'd assume Daria would become succubare, but for the sake of plot she enters the blood coven.

Daria's a strong-willed, pissed-off, kick-arse woman who wants revenge. Alejandro will teach her to love again, and release her inhibitions. But like a toddler who claims ownership incessantly, Alejandro plays the "mine" game repeatedly. I'm not a fan of Alpha males like him; don't like how he claims ownership of Daria, instead of her belonging to no one but herself. And Daria doesn't trust Brandon Nichols, thinks he's shifty, and yet chooses to sleep in the alcove of his door. Christopher Sante, however, is the most well-written character, all shades of grey and neither totally good nor completely evil.

Even if vampires and romance aren't your thing (they're not really mine), stay tuned for what happens around the time of the meteor shower and beyond, because this is where the action really kicks in. Keep an eye out for the show-stopping, devastatingly heartbreaking scene that alerts this is not just an escapist read: it's a reminder that contemporary society has horrors that most would like to pretend don't exist. It's memorable, emotional, and I don't remember ever having a scene in any book remain with me so long after the book's over. (I won't spoil it for you here, but feel free to contact me privately.)

Futuristic fans may want more about the Nabovsky Galaxy, its planets and citizens, and how they relate to Earth and other worlds. But romance fans may be wholly satisfied.(less)

I have just finished reading "The Chosen Sin" by: Anya Bast, There are 309 pages of supernatural drama and romance.
The book is very erotic and edgy with a lot of steamy passionate moments within the book. It is based an a newly formed territory called Darpong and it is within a new galaxy because Earth has become over filled with humans. As it is a futuristic time in the book there are many different technologies and terms used.

Disappointing main story but interesting potential subplot.

It was just okay. I like Anya Bast and was really hoping to like this one. I had a hard time getting into it. "Valerie" was really annoying me most of the time and I found myself not caring too much about their mission to uncover Sante's secrets. There was also lack of a world. It's taking place in this Chosen city haven, but the description of it is lacking. The betrayal is almost handed to you throughout the book. There's nothing that stood out and grabbed me or kept me intrigued.

I almost never blend my paranormal with scifi, but this was a great melange. The heroine was hard nosed and stubborn, but not to a complete fault. I was able to figure out the bad guys, but not the ending. That was something new for me.

This one was a bit different. The atmosphere, setting, etc... was very different in a "sci-fi" kinda way, but it worked very well with this story.

The plot was different in the sense that it was so predictable you would find yourself "knowing" how things will turn out only to realize you were completely wrong! This was my first Anya Bast book and I really enjoyed it. I'm not a big fan of sci-fi, but this had enough story going that it kept my interest despite the sci-fi stuff. I loved Alejandro in all his alpha sexiness; and Daria was a nice counterpoint to his 'straight man' personality. The story flowed nicely and I didn't find myself skipping over fluff in the book.

My only possible negative comment would be that I found the culmination of the story and the comeuppance of the bad guy to be a little...more

Alejandro has loved Daria for longer than seven years. He was in her circle of friends when she was betrayed by the man she loved and she turned to him for comfort...of a sexy sort. Since that night, Alejandro was 'Chosen' and his life changed forever. He still battles the bad guys, he just polices the Chosen instead of humans. When he hears about Daria's mission, he fights to be both her partner and the one who 'Chooses' her. Alejandro is a man who knows what he wants...and he wants Daria...forever.

In all honesty, I didn't particularly enjoy the book until I got about halfway through. Daria's continual push/pull drove me nuts! I found her actions fairly cruel, in a way, since once she was turned she HAD to know how she was affecting Alejandro...if she'd bothered to think about anything except her revenge. Once I begin to dislike a heroine, it's very difficult for me to enjoy the story. BUT, about halfway through Daria began to 'put on her big girl panties' and deal. For me, that made all the difference.

Bast's vampire world is set in the far future which gives it a different feel from many other vamp stories out today. She also wrote a bit more about the mental/psychological aspect of being a Chosen and I liked that. I had a pretty good idea of where the story was headed, but she did manage to throw a surprise or two at me before the end of the story. I'm guessing she may have plans to write more stories about this world and I'm hooked enough to want to read the next one if that happens. (less)

Though I understand the science fiction touch (vampires and other humans now living in another galaxy because earth is over-populated) The Chosen Sin could have easily done well as an average paranormal romance. But aside from that it's one sexually charged read, with the tension between Daria and Alejandro built up so well their coming together (no pun intended) is explosive to say the least.

Couldn't get into this book, and finished about page 70. Awesome hero, but the heroine just too angsty and not mentallly in a good place. Parts of the plot aren't very believable (which is funny from a book about vampires in space). Heroines dialogue is sometimes sophmoric, as are her reactions to the hero, I skipped to the last two pages and heroine still didn't own any big girl panties.

The TBR is calling me, I'm done with this one.

This is a somewhat erotic vampire romance set on another planet in the future featuring undercover government agents. For me, that's just too much. I think the undercover agent part pushed me over my believeability limit ;-) Seriously, though, it's well written enough, but it wasn't enough of any one genre for me. What a disappointment. I like this author's previous work with the Elemental Witches series, but this book was a COMPLETE waste of time.

The worst part of it was the first four chapters were amazing. She set up a really cool world with interesting ideas, and a hero and heroine I was all set to root for.

An ok book, I liked the worldbuilding. Vampires in a futuristic space setting isn't something you see very often and it was done in a believable manner. The love scenes were pretty hot, but perhaps a bit too hot at times for my traditional tastes. Overall, I'm glad I read it.

This book was good from start to finish. The chemistry between Daria and Alejandro was off the charts! I really liked Anya Bast's style of writing. I will have to check out some more of her stuff. If you want a fast-paced, exciting story with great sex, given this one a try. You won't be disappointed.

A very easy read. Light on the erotica side, what’s there is more BDSM to some, the kind a chicken like me can read, there is no sex pain in this book, there is some tie up and anal play. The Chosen Sin starts out of the gate with a bang and just doesn’t stop, even up to the last page! The storyline is set in a very interesting futuristic world where vampires are out of the coffin closet. They have basically carved out a bit of vampy paradise on another planet because people in the future don’t really like them any more than they do today...
