Wow. A truly stunning and powerful read. Highly recommended, if you can find a copy. The story begins in the psychiatric ward of a Cambridge, Massachusetts, hospital, shortly after Blanca attempts suicide and is involuntarily admitted. The narrative weaves back and forth from the present to reminiscences of Blanca's past and examines her attempt to survive and thrive against nearly insurmountable odds. Exquisitely painful, moving, soulful. I connected with this author and this book in a way I wish I didn't. Still, so grateful Ms. Ambert didn't keep our silence.

TOO MUCH DRAMA. I m still wondering how i managed to go through all this soap opera. i guess it was the style of writing(but still there were times that even the style was unbearably exaggerating)
