This delightful series of board books is aimed at very young children. The bright pictures, with their patches of different textures, are designed to develop sensory and language awareness. Babies and toddlers will love turning the pages and touching the feely patches.

A wonderful read from my childhood, one I’d certainly suggest for other youngsters. Whilst it is not my all-time favourite childhood read I can still recall all the details of this one meaning it certainly left a lasting impression upon my young mind.

And isn’t that what we want with children’s books, for them to leave a positive lasting impression?

Love the concept, but not the execution. The reader is told "This is not my snowman," and then is given the reason--His scarf is too fluffy. And another snowman's buttons are too bumpy. The reader can touch each target part of the snowman to feel the concept word. Great idea and nice simple repetitive language. The problem is the FEEL of the snowman parts do not always match the descriptive word given. The wiggle-armed snowman has arms made out of corrugated cardboard material that feels bumpy, ...more

It may be aimed at the very young but my 2 yr old liked it. Perfect with a sensory activity.

There’s not much exciting about this winter edition of a series of touch-and-feel primers that spans all manner of creature, machine, and… sculpture. I do puzzle what sort of squishy nose one could give a snowman. I prefer to have logical connections between the illustrations and text. The inclusion of the ever-present mouse in this series adds a nice element of continuity to the story and the series.

They will be eager to touch the snowman's soft hat...

red fluffy scarf...

green fuzzy mittens...

wooden wiggly arms...

and bright squashy nose!

My toddler and preschooler both loved this touchy feely book. This type of book is fun to read and it helps the children learn descriptive language while being active in the reading process. The Usborne That's Not My... series is definitely a favorite in my house.

The construction of the book is very poor quality and the story is repetitive even for a children's book. Fortunately, I won this in a contest and did not spend any money on it. I won't be buying any Usborne books in the future.

My one year old gets a kick out of these because she can touch different parts on each page. I'm not a huge fan of the made up words like squashy but at this point she learning the concept of reading and not the actual words.

A touch and feel book for babies. As the babies touch the fabrics and materials they are told why that snowman is not mine. They can feel what is wrong with snowman. Cute!

Maybe I am kind of strange but I would rather this book be that is my snowman. More positive!

This book has great sensory words and is great for babies. Also, the touchy-feely pages help interest children in books. Look for the mouse on each page. Check out my page to purchase this book:

One of our son's bedtime favorite. Read almost nightly multiple times that we have it memorized, he asks for it by name and quotes his favorite parts.
