I like to begin story time with attention grabbers or very simple books. Any of the Usborne touchy-feely books is sure to please the younger crowd. Our story times include babies to kindergartners. Beginning this way engages everyone. These books are great to use in a lap-time library program. They are perfect for the home library collection and will be "worn out with love".
My little baby is now starting to get old enough to check out 1-2 books at the library on our trips! And this is one of the got on our last one. I am slowly getting an intro to Usborne books, and so far I really like them. And the touchy-feely books are PERFECT for little hands. Logan loved reading this over and over-feeling all the fun pictures of cars.

Recommends it for: babies
This book has great sensory words and is great for babies. Also, the touchy-feely pages help interest children in books. Look for the mouse on each page. Check out my page to purchase this book:
Not exactly a readable book but a good one for baby to flip the pages and explore the textures etc.
"That's not my car." Really? Well you are only two.
