This book has a few setbacks when compared to the previous.
I found the few typos distracted me from the story. And at one point, I'm pretty sure that instead of saying "AuRon" the author accidentally says "the copper" which left me very confused.
The last 100 pages felt forced, I didn't enjoy reading it, and i feel ripped off cause there was a massive build up towards the final battle. And it all cheaps out at the end.
Also there's actual magic being used by th...more

Book 4 in "The Age of Fire" finally reunites the three dragon siblings, but not until about 2/3 of the way into the book.

The first three books follow each of three dragon siblings individually, getting their stories from their perspectives, along with some intersections of places and secondary characters. It's a brave experiment, but one that ultimately works to the series' advantage.

In this fourth book, the paths of the siblings start to circle one another, al...more

Dragon Strike is the fourth book in the series and like the others it is a solid read. I personally like the third one better but this one is quite different. I was wondering what Knight would do now that all the dragon siblings have been accounted for in each of the first three books. Well he starts writing the story in all of their perspectives, alternating from AuRon to Wistala to the nameless copper. It works very well and varies the plot even more so than the other books due to it's broad P...more

Dragon Strike is E. E. Knight's sequel to Blah Blah Blah, Age of Fire. In this book, the three siblings, AuRon, Wistala and The Copper FINALLY meet each other. The build-up to the meeting took up almost three quarters of the book, and was SO anticlimactic. For three and three quarters books you are WAITING for this moment, and when it finally comes, it's like 'no one was there for me' (Copper), 'I'm a forgiving soul, so I forgive you' (Wistala), and 'Huh, I'm not as mad as I thought' (AuRon), ...more

This was an amazing book! E.E Knight has again spit out a beautiful story with intricate plot lines and deep characters. After reading the whole story of each of the three hatchlings in the previous books, RuGaard, AuRon, and Wistala have been brought together just in time for the fight of the century.
Personally, I think that all three of the dragons should have been this book cover, but ah well. RuGaard is my favorite, so I have no complaints. ;)

It was exciting to see how Wistala, the Copper, and AuRon come back together after the events in each of their respective stories, told in the first three books in the series. Since the first three books happened at approximately the same time, this book was the actual sequel to all three, in a sense, and it was interesting to see them learn of the others' fates and find themselves working together.

This book was a fun, quick, awesome read. I totally agree with Publishers Weekly when they call the Age of Fire series "A bloody, unsentimental fairytale." I have loved every moment of it. I do have to say there was a lot of build up to when the siblings meet up again, then the meeting seemed kind of rushed and unfulfilling . That is the only complaint I have against the book. Other than that it was an extremely satisfying read.

Have liked this series very much. Each of the first three books relate the story of one of the dragon siblings. This book brings them all together in a battle with a common enemy. Though all of the story lines are well blended and the loose ends are tied up neatly, there seems to be the possiblity of more books concerning the relationship of the three dragons.

My journey deep, deep into the heart of modern-day pulp fantasy continues.

I might like this book the best so far out of the series – not that it's a stand–alone, but either I'm getting used to him or he's getting more comfortable. I'm still left with some jarring moments where it seems like the entire population of this world only adds up to a small city, when I wonder how it can be that the three siblings didn't constantly bump into each other over a barrel of sausages. Even so, I r...more

This book was the worst in the series. The story was too short and Knight glossed over many of the finer points. The conflict with the Ghioz is not explained. The reader is supposed to assume that men are evil and greedy and that is why there is war. The conflict between the dragon siblings is also brushed under the rug. The "climax" happens too quickly with little deteail and build up. Overall this book was not good and will probably be the last in the series I read.

I didn't like this one as much as the first 3 in the series. I thought the quality of writing had dropped off quite a bit, and Knight wasn't really able to pull off the three different viewpoints in one book. The premise of the book sounded interesting, and I was excited to see what would happen when the three dragon siblings finally met each other. However, the meeting was anticlimactic and seemed forced.

I will probably read the next one in the series, with the hope that he's just g...more

The fourth in a series. The story was good. It's about 3 sibling dragons who have been separated since babies and they're about to be reunited unknowingly. One of the siblings was not very nice back when they were little, and the other two thinks eachother is dead. It kept me reading as I couldn't wait to read the outcome.

Pretty good. Its been a while since I read the first three. There were several things that happened in the first books I didn't remember. Overall a good series of books. Still like the first one the best!

Skimmed it. I didn't care much what happened with the rest of the story since I didn't really even know what the story was. Here's what I picked up:

1. AuRon (son of AuLang or something) watched his hatchlings play together.
2. Other members of the herd (whose names are too hard to pronounce) come and warn him of elves/dwarves/humans/something on two legs that are in the valley.
3. AuRon flies to a kitchen/cave/dwelling and attempts to stop these people. Not sure what happen...more

I enjoyed this book but not as much as the other 3. I expected a bit more fireworks...even just a bit more when the 3 dragons finally met. It just seemed to be a downfall after all of the hype beforehand. I will still read the 5th book to see what happens next.

I thought this book made an adequate end to the series, which I thought it was, believing it to be a trilogy! I've now discovered this series continues, I'm not sure how I'll change gears to thinking a trilogy was concluded only to find the series goes on!

Another great read. Interesting how he is bring all the dragons back together. Will their relationships continue to grow or will AuRon and the Tyr fragment more?
