Finding herself in the "big city" (what is actually a very small town) she heads towards a building displaying a sign. The sign is an advert for a fire department mascot. The sign on the firehouse stated that the fire company was looking for a mascot. Daisy fits nearly fits the bill, she even has black spots! Except...Daisy is not a dalmation, she is a cow.

The fire chief grumbles, but no one else has applied. When a Daisy saves a calf from a burning barn, the fire chief finally accepts Daisy as a member of the group.

A great book for children to see that just because they are not exactly what is needed, they still have a lot to offer. You should always give something/someone the benefit of the doubt and they may be just what you need
