Excellent book about getting rid of the idols in our lives that take precedence over our relationship with God. The things that become more important to us than Him.

Kelly Minter's studies are meaty and thought provoking. God has used her studies in my life to bring me closer to hHim in both knowledge and intimacy. One of the things I most appreciate about her bible studies is the fact that I can do them on my own without pressure of weekly homework before the next meeting time. It is much more enjoyable for me. Minter takes her bible studies behind the scenes of the Word and gives you more background information. I have treasured my time in each one of her

Kelly is an accomplished songwriter, but I had my doubts about her writing skills. Boy was I wrong. She is honest and provides personal experiences to describe how everyone looks to other gods and how to conqure it. Very funny, yet very deep.

Wow! This book really made me think about all of the seemingly little things that I was placing before God. If you're looking for a fresh way to refocus your life, this is the book for you!

Great eye-opening, fresh study revealing things in our lives (that usually tend to start out being good things) that we give more importance than our obedience and relationship with God.

Thanks Amy! The book was easy to read and consider. It makes you think about your idols and they're not gold icons.

I enjoyed this book. Kelly writes in a friendly, transparent way that helps me connect with what she is explaining. There are reflection questions to consider while reading as well. The basic premise is the challenging question of do we have a God we worship, but other functional gods that take our time, energy , resources etc. In a culture where we are so busy and stretched.. perhaps the answer is yes... and if so, what changes need to be made? I would highly recommend this book for a grou

Great testimony and perspective on things we tend to put more importance on than the Lord

This is my nashville Bible study with a few girls i know from around town. We are having fun with it. The author, Kelly, is from Nashville and talks about being in different places around town. That's really neat. She also includes recipes that she and her friends make for this study and has music recommendations and candle scents! That makes it a bit more fun. We typically sit in the Living Room and do the study, but lately we have met at our kitchen table. The kitchen is a nice change!

I went through this 8 week Bible Study with my community group and liked it very much. It was hugely applicable to my life as I was going through the study. The study focuses on our idols and our false gods and forfeiting them in exchange for the true God. Kelly tells great stories that are very engaging throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed it and hope to apply what I learned for a lifetime.

As far as Bible studies go, this has been one of my favorites. Down to earth and not trendy, this was a refreshing change from previous studies I've done.

I loved this Bible study. It is very soul searching for a girl who has a difficult time being introspective.
