This is an urban contemporary manga that is shonen-ai/yaoi. I occassionally read M/M provided it's well written and a good story, although admittedly, it's not my first choice of genre. The manga is a psychological thriller that's heavy on emotion, while examining the worst and best of human nature in a place of brutal darkness.

The author/artist is best known for her Angel Sanctuary series, a sinsisterly gorgeous tale of incestous love ladden with biblical angelic/demonic combined east-west myt
Kaori Yuki managed to make an extraordinary plot serial killer specialized on prostitutes and young male prostitute plus one iguana.
It is all about messed childhood and very questionable sexual cravings and lot of blood.

I've come to believe that manga just isn't for me. My hopes for this one where quite high though, since I read part of Kaori Yuki's Angel Sanctuary series a while ago, which I really enjoyed.
Now I found this one in the depths of my bookshelves and... I don’t know.
I did not enjoy this, which is very sad since I like the author and the plot seemed really interesting to me. was so short. Like, a hundred pages short. The rest was two other stories which I couldn't even finish.
So, we

She's written a story about a serial killer and fourteen year old male prostitute who fall in love. There's lots of childhood angst involving clowns and gratuitous iguana symbolism. If you think that sounds weird, just read it. You have no idea to what depths this intimate story goes in punching you in the gut. Shakespeare has nothing on this. Seriously.

too much blood but great story... it's good to look at the dark side of things sometimes
So sad and short

I found it Dramatic and sweet, the ending was very brilliant. Almost like Romeo and Juliet type of thing, but most likely different. I always admired the cover of this book, and I suddenly picked it up and started to read it. It was a perfect story.
A very dark story told from the point of view of a serial killer and not a Dexter-esque serial killer ya root for. Yet as dark and twisted as this story is my dark twisted brain loved it.

Sad story about short and painful love of young male prostitute, sold his own older brother, and mad (male) serial killer of prostitutes (who suffered because he was as child abandoned his mother, who worked as prostitute and later she became his first victim - but he was unwanted child born from her rape when she was young girl...). The poor boy tries to save his beloved man very hard, but there is no salvation for them...
Cruel, sad and depresive. And without any happy end.
I dont like this manga

The first Story ROCKS!, the 2nd was okay and the third was so-so BUT the art was beautifully drawed and the romance story of the first was very sweet
I've read this more than a handful of times.
And every time I cry and cry again.
The tragic ending for these two was so heartbreaking and yet it felt almost satisfying near the end.
The depth Kaori lures you into within a few chapters is simply wonderful.
I don't think I've ever cried as much for a one volume manga.
Absolutely AWESOME!
Lawrence is just a kid you want to take care of. Just how deep he feels about everything.
And there are a few people you just want to hit...hard
I love this manga!
this was one of the best manga ive ever read.the other stories besides the first one werent worth anything, but the first one made my was wonderful and it burns itself into ure mind

Means the shadow remains by a young boy.

Like others Yuki, Kaori's story. As a faithful reader, I did read it.
Actually, this deserves more stars. The author is fantastic - the work is brilliantly scary and fascinating but it simply wasn't my taste.
the main story was awesome, but the others, which took up more than half of the manga were absolutely boring ~~
Despite not liking yaoi at all, I absolutely love Boys Next Door. The ending is incredibly depressing.
Super good & super dark. Bawled my eyes out at the end. Very light yaoi, much more inner angst/love story/thriller.

I'm so disgusted that I can't even finish the manga.
